Center Line, Mich. - As the days to the Mopar Thunder event at Eldora Speedway dwindle, the entry list for the much-awaited event continues to grow. Among the distinguished list of race drivers who are already entered for the August 7 event is open-wheel standout and NASCAR competitor J.J. Yeley, who has been confirmed as driver for the non-winged No. 75 Mopar-powered Gary Stanton-owned machine.

"J.J. Yeley is one of the fastest non-winged, open-wheel race drivers in the world," said Stanton, whose shop builds a majority of the Mopar engines currently being raced in USAC and other open-wheel series. "He is always strong at Eldora, and we expect him to be one of the favorites to win the event. We're going to this event to win, and with Yeley's focus and outstanding driving ability, we believe we'll have a good chance to win Mopar Thunder."

Tracy Hines, who earned "quick time" for last year's Mopar Million at Eldora, is also scheduled to compete in the $50,000-to-win event. Hines, who is competing in the NASCAR Busch Grand National and Craftsman Truck Series in addition to his USAC National Midget and Silver Crown Series duties this season, is looking forward to returning to the high banks of Eldora Speedway. He will pilot the No. 69 entry for Hoffman Motorsports.

"We had a great event started last year," Hines said. "Unfortunately, we got caught up in a first lap accident that took us out of contention. Our car was extremely fast, and we would have been near the front at the end of the race.
We're looking forward to returning to Eldora next month, and we feel we'll have another opportunity to contend for the win."

The West Coast and the SCRA Series will also be well represented, as Damion Gardner will return to compete for a starting spot in the Mopar Thunder event.
Gardner will pilot the Ron Chaffin-owned No. 50 machine, the car he has campaigned in SCRA and USAC/CRA competition this season. Gardner also competed in last year's Mopar Million event.

The outstanding weekend of open-wheel racing at Mopar Thunder will kick off with the All-Star Circuit of Champions on Thursday, August 5, followed by the World of Outlaws on Friday. Mopar Thunder at Eldora, featuring the USAC National Sprint Cars, will wrap up the events on Saturday.
