most improved drivers at local tracks

i am a little bias on this but tommy gaither at tri-city is my pick he went from a 17th place average last year to a heat win and all but one knight in the top 10 including a few top five finishes and up to 4th in members in points.
good job son

Late model - Billy Laycock
Modified - Joe Dresch
Crate - Daniel Heck
Sportsman - Jimmy Cummins
Street Stock - Danny Ems
4 Bangers - Travis Horner

Rocky Berliew

I agree that their are alot of drivers that have improved tremendously, but my opinion is that Rocky Berliew (18B modified) has improved more than anyone. He stepped up this year from street stocks into the modified class and is very close to breaking into the top 10 in points at Granite City!!! Not to shabby for a driver who had never drove anything but a street stock before!!!

I am biased also but... How about Dave Armstrong #34 Sportsman at I55. Now 10th in points at I55 as a rookie. Before this year he had been in the car 4 times.

Most Improved

How about the Eiler Boys from Highland, what a great year they are having. Headrick Engines Rock

The Eiler Boys from Highland are always up in the front so how can they be the most improved drivers ? You have to be a back runner or one that looses control a lot and now is keeping the car going in the right direction and is running upfront in the pack more than in the rear of the pack .That to me is a improved driver!!

Steve Leach that races Highland and TCS. is getting alot better handle on the #49 late model. He went from one year of Street Stocks to a full blown LM.

steve leach #49

i am not just saying it cause i help steve when i can. but steve has impressed the hell out of me. For the money he has in the car. cause he can drive the wheels off anything u just got to give him time. when he gets that car figured out he will be a rocket. and he is one of the cleanest driver out there

i think every track has there own. but in the street stocks/pure strocks randy dietzel can belle clair is a good improvement.at highland id say jon ripperda in the 196 sportsman and at pevely i would say ed dixion just because last few yrs he has ****ed there now hes back upfront.crates id say charlie heck he say stepped in a lm and done very well

Couldn't agree more about Rip 196. For never driving a rear wheel race car, he's come about as close to winning a feature as you can get.
You could add TJ Eilers, Kory Riegel, Brad V, Goetter, Oswald to my list.

Ed Dixon has won more features than most racers has raced, so for you to use his name in this conversation is as stupid as it gets.

I have to say Jimmy Cummins and Wahoo Jones in the sportsman at Belle-Clair. Both have had a phenomenal season. Keep up the good job guys.

I think Russel Eilers would be an excellent choice for the most improved Sportsman driver. He won a few features before this season but he has totally dominated the class this year like nobody since Marty Smith Jr.
