Bardstown, KY- Day one of the 22nd edition of the Dirt Track World Championship scheduled for today at Bluegrass Speedway had to be cancelled due to continuing rain showers that caused the track to be unsafe for racing. DTWC promoter Carl Short and Bluegrass Speedway track promoter David Ferrel felt it was in the best interest of the drivers that the program be moved to Sunday to allow time for the track to dry and to also allow for better track preparation.

The 22nd Annual DTWC will now be completed in a one-day format on Sunday, October 20. All gates will open around 8:00 a.m., with hot laps set for 11:00 a.m. The Late Models will now receive two laps of back to back time trials instead of two separate rounds, while the Modified division will now be drawing for their respective heat race starting positions. The complete show of heats, consies, and the Dirt Track World Championship Late Model feature and the $2,000 to win Modified will all be contested.

The finest field of Dirt Late Models to ever grace the grounds of Bluegrass Speedway are in attendance with a total of 120 entries signed in on the grounds to contest for the $50,000 to win top prize. A total of 60 Modifieds were also in attendance as well, making for a total of 180 race cars on the grounds of the 1/2 dirt facility located just moments from My Old Kentucky Home just outside of beautiful and historic Bardstown.

Since the show will now be a complete show, general admission for the one-day extravaganza of racing will be $45 for adults, children age 6-12 are $10, with children under 12 admitted free with a paid adult. Pit passes will be $55.
