Haubstadt, IN - June 19, 2013 - Saturday night the Lincoln Park Speedway will once again welcome the Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series to the 5/16 oval located in Putnamville, IN. This show is an addition to original schedules that were released. The change was brought about when the MSCS spring appearance there was rained out in progress. This weekend’s program will be a complete new show paying $2,500 to win and $200 to start. The feature is set for 30 laps in distance.

The Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series has completed three of the four events on the schedule so far despite surrounding wet conditions this spring. Alabama driver Kevin Thomas Jr. has certainly been in the driver’s seat this year in winning two of the three features held and placing third in the other one won by Daron Clayton. Clayton’s win was number 10 with MSCS during his driving career. He is second only to veteran Jon Stanbrough in wins. Stanbrough has collected 19 and was very close to winning number 20 a week ago at Haubstadt.

Kevin Thomas Jr. currently holds a thirteen point lead in the MSCS standings over former champion Brady Short. Short is just 8 ahead of Clayton. Kyle Cummins, Robert Ballou, Chase Stockon, and Jon Stanbrough are next in order with only seven points separating all four of these accomplished drivers. Rookie Bradley Sterrett has advanced to eighth in the overall standings. Chase Briscoe and Kurt Gross moved into the top ten following last Saturdays Sprint Stampede. Briscoe is breaking in a new car.

Lincoln Park Speedway has it’s own cast of sprint car drivers who are looking for continued success at their home track. They were there in force for the May encounter. Those holding temporary permits for the May 25th race are expected to return for this engagement. Stubs for those permits will be honored by MSCS at registration. That originally scheduled event produced one of the highest car counts thus far this season at the track and for the series!

Brent Beauchamp of Fairland, IN, leads the track points standings and has won two of the last three features held at Lincoln Park Speedway.

Other feature winners at the track this season include Jeff Bland Jr., Kyle Cummins, and Brian Clauson. Sixty or more drivers have tested their skills at the track so far this season. The $2,500 to win should attract some of the best drivers on dirt.

Fans who enjoy stock car racing will have a second event to enjoy watching. The Slick Griffin Memorial will also be held the same night. In all three other classes will be competing as usual.
The pit gate opens at 3 o’clock. The grandstands open at 4:30 P.M..

Racing begins at 7 o‘clock with hot laps prior. All times are E.D.T.

Lincoln Park Speedway appears to be the one place to be on Saturday night June 22nd. MSCS with the co-operation of Mother Nature will give it that second try. The series appreciates this added opportunity to compete at Lincoln Park Speedway. That was made possible by the willingness of track promoter Joe Spiker to reschedule the rained out event into an existing schedule.
Race time is always fun time at Lincoln Park Speedway!
