FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Park City, Kansas – May 20, 2013 - Former series champion Mike Peters of Wichita, Kansas will lead the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products 360-ci sprint car division back into action this coming Friday night as the tour will once again take part in the third annual “Sprint Car Mania” at RPM Speedway in Hays, Kansas.
After two events Peters holds a slim ten point lead over fellow Wichita resident Jeremy Campbell, who picked up his first victory of the season a couple of weeks ago at 81 Speedway. New Mexico traveler Joshua Hodges currently sits third in the point standings followed by Danny Wood and former three-time and defending tour champion C.J. Johnson.
Sitting sixth through tenth in the point standings are; Jeff Stasa, Jon Freeman, Luke Cranston, Marc Robe and Danny Jennings.
Other drivers expected include: Forrest Southerland, Adam Gullion, Wyatt Burks, Don Droud, Jr. and Jason Martin.
Now retired Garry Lee Maier won the inaugural “Sprint Car Mania” back in 2011 while severe weather cancelled last years running as cars were on the track for wheel pack. Close to thirty cars are expected for this event that pays $2000 to win and $300 to start the nights feature finale.
Pit gates at RPM Speedway on Friday night will open at 4:00 pm with grandstand admission gates opening at 6:00 PM. Racing action is slated for a 7:00 PMs tart time.
