FISHERS, Indiana – Hewitt’s Law, the tell-all autobiography of Hall of Fame racer Jack Hewitt, was officially released to the public on Friday, February 14.
Hewitt’s Law is a hardbound volume of 331 pages, containing the colorful story of the Hewitt family, as well as dozens of anecdotes on many of Jack Hewitt’s peers.
Hewitt spent nearly one full year with sports biographer Dave
Argabright on the project, which offers revealing insight into one of the most popular and provocative racers of modern times. Hewitt, known for pulling no punches -both literally and figuratively- provides many remembrances from a career that encompasses over 300 short-track feature wins.
The first-person book also contains many other prominent voices. Tony Stewart wrote the foreword, while throughout the book a number of personalities provide their insight into Hewitt and his career. Such voices include Rick Ferkel, Bob Hampshire, Kenny Schrader, Brent Kaeding, Bones Bourcier, Parnelli Jones, Dave Darland, and Tom Bigelow.
Hewitt’s Law is a rough-and-tumble ride through sprint car and late model racing from the early 1970’s to the present. It also provides insight into Hewitt’s continued recovery from serious injuries suffered this past July in a sprint car accident.
Hewitt’s Law was printed by Indianapolis-based Print Communications. The Hewitt offering is Argabright’s third book, following Still Wide Open with Brad Doty in 1999 and American Scene-a collection in 2001.
