March 5, 2012 (Lewistown, PA) Nick Dickson of Lewistown, PA and Nick Dickson Racing have been prepping for the 2012 season that is scheduled to get started on Saturday, March 24 at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, MD. In preparation for the upcoming season, Dickson Racing recently purchased a brand new MastersBilt by Huey, switching from the Rocket Chassis that Nick has driven in the past.
'We were just looking for something a little different with our racing program,' Dickson said about the switch. 'We like how the attitude of the MBH cars and seen plenty of guys in the region have success in them, we just felt like it was the right time to make a change. We're looking forward to the challenge of having a completely different race car to learn about and really excited to get the season started.'
Nick's 2012 plans are basically the same as he's done for the past few seasons, competing in mostly local shows and entering many of the higher paying races throughout the region. Dickson plans to again run the entire Appalachian Mountain Speedweek in June as well as compete with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, World of Outlaws Late Model Series, Three State Flyers Series, and the Unified Force Race Championship (UFo) Series.
'We like to keep our options open so we can race where ever and whenever we choose,' Dickson said, 'There's plenty of racing around in our area and it's easy to pick and choose where you want to go on any given weekend.' However, Nick's May schedule is still very tentative as his wife Paula, is expecting their second child at the beginning of May.
