TULSA, OK (March 1, 2004) – It was announced today that O’Reilly Auto Parts, headquartered in Springfield, MO, has reached a three-year agreement to be title sponsor of Emmett Hahn’s new Sprint Bandits series.

“We’re excited about Emmett’s new series, he’s got a lot of great ideas and it’s a tremendous opportunity to be a part of it as it gets started,” commented Ron Byerly, O’Reilly Auto Parts Vice President of Advertising, Marketing and Training. “With us pulling out of the Outlaws, this is a great way for us to stay in 410 Sprint Car racing and get involved on the ground floor of something with tremendous growth potential and a bright future.”

Sprint Bandits founder and President Emmett Hahn stated, “We’re honored that O’Reilly Auto Parts has come on board with the Sprint Bandits series. O’Reilly’s support is invaluable as we try to rejuvenate the sport by delivering a more competitive and entertaining sprint car series along with reduced costs for the teams involved.”

O’Reilly Auto Parts is one of the largest specialty retailers of automotive aftermarket parts, tools, supplies, equipment and accessories in the United States, serving both the do-it-yourself and professional installer markets. Founded in 1957 by the O'Reilly family, the company operates more than 1,100 stores throughout eighteen different states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

O’Reilly’s recently recorded its eleventh consecutive year of record revenues and earnings since becoming a public company in April 1993.

Founded by Emmett Hahn, the Sprint Bandits series has been created in an effort to revitalize 410-ci Sprint Car racing, in part by utilizing cost-cutting rules including the use of a series head, spec right rear tire and eliminating the wicker bill on wings. These rules will also combine to unhook the cars, thereby making the driver a greater part of the equation, resulting in more competitive Sprint Car racing.

The O’Reilly Sprint Bandits inaugural event is slated for March 19-20 with the 31st Annual Devil’s Bowl Speedway Spring Nationals in Mesquite, TX.
