This first piece is from the Post and Ken Roberts. This one mentions Curtis Francois, a local, former professional racer, being involved in the group of investors looking at GIR.

There is also this report from dragracingonline (a locally produced, national online magazine). This one mentions that drag racer Johnny Gray has made a serious offer to purchase the facility.

Hopefully, this is the start of many good things to come for the Madison, IL speed plant!
 
The "rumor" at DRO is at least 6 months old. Don't know why he's running it as something brand new. Johnny Gray was out of the picture almost 2 months ago.
 
That is great news cool weather and the dirt trac season will be over so money will not be an issue to go see the drag races.
