Opening Night Results From St. Francois County Raceway

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- (April 8, 2006) 2005 track champion Joey Montgomery of Fredericktown opened the new season Saturday with a big win in the sprint car feature at the St. Francois County Raceway.
The sprint feature was marred by a nasty barrel roll and flip by rookie driver Tom Dickerman. The car also caught fire adding more intensity to the situation. Despite the severity of the accident, Dickerman was alright and has stated he'll have the car back at the track for the upcoming week.
Tommy Worley Jr. of Bismarck finished second in the feature with Jerrod Hull of Sikeston third, Steve Short of Farmington fourth and Dustin Adams of Potosi fifth. They were followed by Bob Thoman, Nathan Higgins, Jason Hunt, Keith Burch and Tyler Thompson.
Short won the first heat race with Tim Montgomery second and Thoman third. Worley won the second heat with Joey Montgomery second and Hull third. Jason Keith won the third heat with Adams second and Burch third. Keith won the trophy dash with Joey Montgomery second and Worley third.
In the Modified class, Kenny Kennedy of Farmington picked up the checkered flag with Jeremy Greenwalt of Potosi second, Tommy Worley Sr. of Farmington third, Billy Smith of Park Hills fourth and Kasey Nations of Park Hills fifth. They were followed by Kenny Harris, Brent Thompson, Alan Conner, Dwayne Kieffer and Leo Kieffer.
Thompson won the first heat with Harris second and Bill Long third. Worley won the second heat with Kennedy second and Chris Boyd third. Greenwalt won the third heat with Nations second and Brad Thurston third. Smith won the "B" main with Austin Matthews second and David Shepard third.
In the Pure Street class, Michael Abney Jr. was the feature winner with Rooster Griffin second, Chris Kelly third, Bill Skaggs fourth and Josh DeSpain fifth. They were followed by Chris Cannon, Josh Skaggs, Paul Warren, Jeff Beeson and Brian McGee.
Casey won the first heat with Beeson second and Abney third. Griffin won the second heat with Bill Skaggs second and Bill Ames third.
In the 600cc Multi class, Casey Barnhouse of Farmington was the feature winner with Derek King second, Jimmy Stearns third, Kara King fourth and Jeremy Boyer fifth. They were followed by Joey Boyd, Brad Greer, Brian Keen, Brandon Nixon and David Chilton.
Barnhouse won the first heat with Kara King second and Derek King third. Boyer won the second heat with Jason McBride second and Jason Cooper third. Chilton won the third heat with Boyd second and Mark Shirshekan third.
