Atlanta, GA - 3/02/09 - After postponing the season-opener to allow Mother Nature to take its' course this past weekend, the Parts Plus United Sprint Car Series kicks off the 2009 Parts Plus USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour this coming weekend at Central Miss. Speedway near Winona, MS. The track is located on US Hwy. 82, just six miles West of I-55 and two hours South of Memphis, Tennessee.
The event is part of the two-day, Frostbuster Classic that features a USCS double-header including the Parts Plus USCS sprint cars plus Rislone USCS
Modified Series and six CMS weekly racing divisions. Those other divisions include the CMS Super Late Models, the Crate Late Model vs. Late Model Stock Frostbuster Shootout, Pure Street, Mini Stock and two-man Cruiser divisions.
For the winged sprint car contingent and Super Late Model teams, several practice sessions will be available on Friday night with a full racing
program on tap for both of those high powered divisions on Saturday night.
The Pit gates open at 3:00pm on Friday afternoon with a drivers meeting at 6:00pm and racing action starts at 7:30pm. Friday night's action features
qualifying rounds including time trials and qualifying races for the Crate Late Model vs. Late Model Stock Shootout competitors plus time trials and
qualifying races in the Rislone USCS Modified Series division. Friday night's format also has the Pure Street and Mini Stock divisions contesting the
qualifying races as well. The popular two-man Cruisers will run a complete program of heats and a feature for their divisions.
