Paducah International Raceway has confirmed they will be the first stop on the Summer Sizzler Modified Series when it kicks off on Aug. 29th, 2008. The event will pay the winner $1,000 to win and $100 to start which will mark the highest paying feature event for the modifieds at the famed speedplant for 2008.
The Summer Sizzler Modified Series event at PIR will be the first stop of 4 events schedules over 2 weekend so far and will see the modifieds using the passing points system at the southern stop.
Not only will the drivers be battling for increased prize money at these events but other prizes like:
Afco Racing Products will award the Hard Charger of each event a $50.00 product certificate good toward product purchases from AFCO.
Landrum Springs will award product certificates at each events.
The series schedule currently looks like this as we await one final track to finalize the date that has been offered to them.
Aug. 29th- Paducah International Raceway- Paducah, KY- $1,000 to win
Aug. 30th- Western KY Speedway- Nebo, KY- $2,000 to win
Aug. 31st- TBA
Sept. 6th- Soggy Bottom Raceway- Morgantown, KY- $2,000 to win
Sept. 7th- Windy Hollow Speedway- Owensboro, KY- $1,500 to win
Each of the Summer Sizzler Modified Series events will award UMP Dirtcar points to the drivers who attend and will run under UMP RULES. A seperate points system will also be used for driver who follow the series. There will be a points fund for the top 5 teams at the end of the series. The points fund amount has yet to be ironed out as sponsorship is still being worked out.
