If we are going to do double file I wouldn't mind seeing the cone restart as another twist in the excitement this would let the bottom feeders and the cushion bangers be where they want to be at all times even if they had to start another row back

I would add one thing to this: 10 Laps or less to go in the Feature only then move the Lappers to the rear...Whatcha think?
i would say 5 laps but tend to agree at some point to give clear track to the front runners,,i have see a lap down car un-lap them selves ,not to often though JMO

Qualify and invert the field on heats so that the slower cars have a chance to make a good run in the feature depending on how they finish in their heats. They did that years ago and its called Grass Roots racing!!!! Just saw a mod race on MavTv and there wasn't hardly anyone in the stands. We need to do something different to get the fans back in the stands!!!!

Noob question here. What is a cone start?

Cone restart is a double file restart where the leader is out front. Second place on back line up side by side like a Delaware double file restart. Difference is, they go on the inside or outside of the cone while lining up to choose that they want to restart on the inside or the outside row. So if the track is one lane, the top 4 or 5 might all choose the inside lane for instance. Then the 6th place guy might be the first car to choose the outside lane and he would move all the way up to the front row outside starting spot.

This is a fairly popular way to do restarts on pavement tracks. Some dirt tracks have done it..

The only issue is getting everyone to understand it and getting the lineups done quickly and orderly.

I like the qualifying and the double restarts with the inverted heats, but with some tracks having a curfew they might need to start earlier or have no intermission to get all classes in, jmo

Raceivers would cure line up problems.

A lot of the problems in lineups with racecievers comes from lack of communication between officials. What is the driver supposed to do when an on-track official is directing you to do one thing and the voice in your ear is telling you to do something else. This happens a whole lot at certain tracks.

Ive heard that about race receivers. Maybe a track should designate just one person to talk to the drivers to make communications a lot better and less confusing?

Maybe it's a case of too many cooks in the kitchen. When I was still an active driver with POWRI Siner was the voice in your ear and I don't remember any problems.

That double file cone start sounds interesting. At this point I just wanna race and do whatever it takes for tracks to succeed.
