Saturday night at the Poplar Bluff Speedway was one of our most exciting nights of all. It was the beginning of our Poplar Bluff Speedway Jr. Fan Club. Kids were everywhere - hanging onto the fence waiting for their opportunity to ride one lap in a racecar; catching candy and prizes thrown over the fence; and watching a great night of racing. Approximately 100 kids took a trip around the racetrack in everything from a cruiser to a late model. Pictures were being taken and smiles were everywhere. After 20 or 30 minutes of riding and driving excitment for the kids and drivers both, it came to an end with Billy James in the 5JR late model taking Race Adamson for the ride of his life, carrying the left front wheel six inches off the ground around the turns. What a show!
