The 2009 O’Reilly POWRi National Midget and 600cc Micro Sprint Series will help delight the fans one last time this season this Saturday, at the lightning quick Macon Speedway in Macon, IL on Saturday, Sept 26. Bryan Clauson of Noblesville, IN won the annual Tom Knowles Memorial O’Reilly POWRi National Midget event at Spoon River Speedway last Saturday night. This was Clauson’s second POWRi victory in a row after winning the previous night at the Morgan County Speedway. Come out and see if Clauson can make it three wins in a row this Saturday night as he will battle the other stars of POWRi like Brad Loyet, Brad Kuhn, Bobby East and Tim Siner. last stop for the POWRi Micro series for 2009. The Micro series finds driver Derek King at the top of his class leading Andrew Felker. The POWRi cars should put on quite a display this weekend as well over 100 cars are expected to battle it out on the super fast 1/5 mile oval.
Saturday night will also be featuring our UMP Modified, Street Stock and Pro & Amateur Hornet divisions in conjunction with the POWRi sanctioned events. This will be the final night of racing to earn points to claim the title of 2009 Macon Speedway division champion so if you’re looking for one last night of good racing for 2009 look no further than Macon Speedway. Macon Speedway offers fun family entertainment every Saturday night from April to September. Please watch our website for exciting news concerning new ideas for 2010 at Macon Speedway. “We have had another great year of exciting racing here each and every Saturday night and we feel very fortunate to have such loyal drivers and fans who patronize us all summer long, said track owner Bob Sargent.” “We are already looking ahead to 2010 to bring new ideas to bring the fans back again for another year here at Macon Speedway as the track will enter its 4th year of operation under the new ownership.”
Macon Speedway will open their pits at 4:00pm. Hot laps are at 6:00pm with racing at 7:00pm. Adult general admission tickets are $15 and kids 12 & under are still free. Pit gate admission will be $30 for the event.
Macon Speedway is located 9 miles south of Decatur, IL on US 51 then .6 miles west on Andrews Street, then south on Wiles.
