Randle Sweeney of Clifty, Kentucky took the UMP Super Late Model Feature event win at the Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway on Saturday night June 10, 2006. Other event winners were Tony Albright in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Crate Late Model division, Ronnie Richardson in the Mini Mod’s, Eric Edwards in the Outlaw Mini Sprints, Clayton Miller in the UMP Open Wheel Modifieds, Don Everett in the Pro Street class, Michael Rittenberry in the Pure Mini Stocks, and Michael Neighbors taking home the Street Stock A-Feature event. The Mid-Season Championships were held for the UMP Late Models, the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Crate Late Models, and the Pro-Street divisions.
Seventeen UMP Super Late Models rolled into the pits Saturday night with Randle Sweeney taking fast time with a 14:286 seconds. The dash winner was Sweeney and Duke Wright took the Heat Race win. The A-Feature was won by Sweeney of Clifty, Kentucky over Rusty Griffaw of Festus, Missouri, Tony Albright of Clarksville, Tennessee, Jarryd Holshouser of Hollybush, Kentucky, and Perry Delaney of Sparta, Tennessee.
The UMP Open Wheel Modified division saw Clayton Miller taking both fast time and the dash win. His quick time of the night saw a 15:530 seconds on the board. The heat winner was Gregg Brown. The A-Feature was won by Clayton Miller over Charles Zimmerman, David Flowers, Mike Sweeney, and Anthony Garber.
The StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Crate Late Models were dominated in the A-Feature by Clarksville, Tennessee’s Tony Albright taking the win over Steven Ashby of Cunningham, Tennessee, with Brian Caudle, Don Young, and Jason Davis rounding out the top-five. Albright set fast time of the night with a 14:375 seconds around the speedway.
The Outlaw Mini Sprints A-Feature event saw Eric Edwards take his # 1E sprint to victory lane by taking the win over Matt Baker, Chris Hunter, Brian Nance, and Darrell Lovett rounding out the top-five. The Heat Races were won by Baker and Edwards.
The Mini Mod A-Feature was won by Ronnie Richardson taking the top spot in the # 15 race-car over Micah Smith, Kyle Fleming, Adam Wright, and Danny Taylor.
The Pro Street A-Feature event was won by Don Everett driving the # 22 to victyory lane by taking the event win over Joeseph Hamm, John Maines, Bubba Boyd Jr., and Anthony Jackson. Fast Time was Maines with a 15:449 seconds.
The Pure Mini Stocks was won by Michael Rittenberry, taking yet another win on the season by driving the # 10 race-car to the win over Richard Champagne, Michael Bottom, James Lovelady, and Travis Treat.
The Street Stock A-Feature was captured by Michael Neighbors in the # 77 race-car over Paul Musser, Don Everett, Buster Smith, and Larry Barber Jr. The Heat Races were won by Barber Jr. and Neighbors.
Next Saturday night June 17 the Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway will feature a complete show of all of the eight exciting racing classes and Mid-Season Championships for the Outlaw Mini Sprints, and UMP Open Wheel Modifieds. Fans will also be voting for Father of the Year as Father’s Day will soon be approaching on Sunday June 18.
The June 24 event will feature an annual stop in the UMP Summer Nationals Late Model tour as the event winner will receive a cool $10,000 for their efforts.
