Ray Eby to have his restored 1940 Willys at Tri-City tonight!

I just got off the phone with Joey Hauck (coupe92) he is on his way to tri-city with the meticulously restored Ray Eby coupe. I was there until about 9:30 last night and couldn't believe he would have it ready for tonight, he fired the engine at 1:30 this morning, went back at it at 6:00 AM to final assemble.
His dedication is unbelievable
Yes he will be at Pevely tomorrow, when you look at this car realize he pulled a rusted frame with no body out of the woods, he had to take a chain saw to cut the trees that had grown through the frame. His brother Curt who sadly passed away hand built the body with an English wheel and shrinker stretcher

If possible a picture or two would be great! I can't get there tonight but Ray was my favorite driver as a youngster and that red willy's was my favorite of his cars.

That car was neat! That class was neat! Put on some great heat races and caution free feature. I loved them and got me thinking of maybe getting involved in one. Pretty cool and thanks for all the guys coming out.

I am going to try to make it to i-55 tonight, the vintage cars are alot of fun to watch. Rays car looks beautiful from the picture. So many of those really cool works of art have been lost to the crusher and rust. Thank you to the people who saved and restored this one for us all to see, enjoy, and remember.

The car looks awesome. Went in the pits at Tri City last night and saw it up close. Haucks did a tremendous job restoring it from barely the frame. It ran good last night too. Couple more laps and 91 wins the feature. Thanks to the guys in Rolla for bringing Ms Ginny back. Mike Mineman. Thx to Lenny for hanging on to it all those years.
