You hit the nail on the head, that's why I go to demo derbies now LOL"the idea of running 5 or 6 classes makes it way too late if we have to work the next morning. I feel tri-city has the best track and facilities, but they go on WAY too long if you can't get the show over by 11 or 12 then you have too many classes so we stopped going."
Amen brother!!! 14mtrsports You are dead on about everything in your post!
I agree with racer1a . Make a motor rule so everyone is more equal and have a better chance of winning . I'm getting tired of watching the same big money motors win everything every week . That's why racing is so boring to watch most of the time . Skillful driving winning races is a lot more exiting to watch and will bring back more fans . That's the trouble with racing now a days .
I wish it was as easy to predict the winners at horse racing like it is now with stock car racing Id be a millionaire .There are reasons I don't like some of the tracks we have, but I certainly don't stay home and not go. I go to Belleville every Friday and most if not all the special shows in the stl area. We all know what we like in a race nite program, and surprisingly after reading this it varies quite a bit. My suggestion is this. Instead of staying home because your track is not making you happy. Try going to a different track once or twice. If you don't like the favoritism at highland,go to pevely. You don't like the big money guys winning all the time at granite,go to belleville. If you miss seeing Jimmy Cummins race go where he is racing. The comment I can't get over is racing is boring. WTF. You want boring go to a baseball game or tennis match. I just noticed I recomend u go to two allied race tracks. We all know they **** but it is what we have to deal with. I would much rather go to races with allied than none at all.

Good answers, Brian and Twisted
Most of the complaints here are based on the decision making of officials and/or racing Associations. Reminds you of politics, you love them or hate them, they been good to you or bad to you. (Depending on what news you watch.) Unless you flew in the officials from another planet, officials will always be accused of favoritism.
Racing a sport that has emotional ups and downs like no other... for a driver, and including, crews, family and their fans. There are the highs, the lows, and the down right awful nights, especially if it's not your fault. Being someone from both sides of the crash wall, I can relate. Drivers sometimes make the worst spectators, complain, complain. Why? Because of the mind set, "I'm a racer, you're a chump if you just watch racing." Or, "I should be out there, I'd kick their azz, I can't because (put profanity laced excuses here)..." and the big green eyed envy monster.
But, man, what better place to be than a race track!! (I can think of some, but we won't go there) Your racing buddies are there, the sound, the smell (well sometime not) and the great racing. Sure some race nights are stinkers, that's just the nature of the beast. I will stay to the bitter end of a show. Driving half the night to get home. I not the happiest camper and wish the track had noted sooner that the the show was running late. But sometimes there is a unpredicted big time killer. You all know by now, more classes in the pits, the bigger the back gate money to pay the top end cars. It's a bitter pill, but common today. The days of big crowds for one or two classes of cars on a regular night are mostly gone. The tracks that run sprint/midget cars are usually the exception.
How about a rule starting at 10:30 or 11 p.m. One spin or bringing out the yellow (unassisted), your out, that would move things along.
There is no silver bullet fix all, but don't shoot at the promoter, you may get what you wished for... no racing.
