Inside Line Promotions - FORNEY, Texas (March 17, 2015) - Travis Rilat has an affinity for Devil's Bowl Speedway.
It has little to do with the half-mile oval being only a short drive from his home and more with the success Rilat enjoys at the track, where he is set to compete this Friday and Saturday with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
"Devil's Bowl is less than a half hour from where I live so it's nice to be able to race close to home," he said. "It's even nicer to have had a lot of success at the track."
Rilat has recorded at least one top 10 during each of the past 10 years at Devil's Bowl Speedway, including a pair of eighth-place results last year. He earned a trio of top 10s in 2013 and was victorious with three top fives in 2012 at the track.
"We race to win and that's our goal this weekend," he said. "You have to be in contention to win so I'm happy with our recent results at Devil's Bowl because it means we are in the ball park with a chance to win each time."
Rilat has also scored feature victories in 2011 and 2006 at the high-speed track. Additionally, he notched three top fives in 2009, five top 10s in 2008 and three top fives in 2007.
"Despite Devil's Bowl being so close to the shop we've only been able to race there a handful of times each season," he said. "We have a base setup that puts us in a good position. Then with some minor adjustments and a little luck we're able to contend for victories there."
Rilat was scheduled to race in Texas last weekend during the ASCS Gulf South Region season-opening doubleheader before rain washed the weekend out.
