Inside Line Promotions - FORNEY, Texas (June 30, 2014) - Travis Rilat will return to action this weekend at a trio of tracks where he has recorded a podium finish this season.
Rilat, who is tied for the ASCS Gulf South Region lead with two victories and six top fives, will compete for Richard Saumure in a Texas tripleheader beginning on Thursday at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige. Rilat earned a third-place result during his lone visit to the track on May 23.
"I led the first half of that race before I got beat in traffic," he said. "The goal is to put ourselves in position to win again and this time to finish it off by going to Victory Lane."
On Friday, Rilat will tackle Shady Oaks Speedway in Goliad, where he scored a runner-up result on May 24 with the ASCS Gulf South Region.
"Moisture came back into the track during that feature and we battled a tight race car when we were there earlier this season," he said. "We definitely learned some things that we can apply to this Friday's race."
The weekend wraps up on Saturday at Battleground Speedway in Highlands. Rilat was victorious during his first trip of the season to the track on May 3 for the Ronald Laney Memorial, where he lapped up to fourth place. It also marked his first win of the year in the United States.
"We had a strong finish to that race," he said. "It was great to win in honor of the Laney family and I look forward to duplicating my success this weekend."
