Rodney Melvin National Dirt Digest article!!

Got my copy of NDD today and there is an article on Rodney Melvin's 2003 UMP National Championship. Unfortunately most of the article is dealing with the criticism he takes off of this site.

No matter what some people say, I think he is a very good late model racer and am happy to have STLRACING.COM across the nose of his car.
 
seen article and boy it was the truth, anyway like my t-shirt they sent. congrads to rod for another successful year.

Witch isuue of NDD is this article in? Who is on the cover?? I haven't gotten an issue in awhile.

What a shame that this guy wins a National Championship and gets some much needed publicity for the dirt racing world and all they can mention is how he get's slamed by some over zealous
non car owning people.... He may not be my favorite driver but he has earned my respect for what he has done. What a shame for a very good driver to have mud in his face in the off season also. :(

I have no problems with Rodney. He and I talk well with one another which I found different. He can setup his car for his driving style and run well outside of Mt Vernon as he won at several other tracks this past year. Yes, he may have a home at Mt Vernon and win a lot, but that is what racing is all about - winning. All the other drivers that race at Mt. Vernon need to pick it up and get their racing programs up to the challenge of beating Rodney.
Winning the UMP championship is not easy against 800+ other drivers that race on home tracks. Give the man a break he did won the championship and it is his second in four years.
Somebody find the device on his car that many think he has and then you can talk about it. It has not been proven.
 
Shame , Shame , Shame , on you dirt digest. For the accomplishments that Rodney has done this year, and for you to write such a negative article, get your money out to pay at MVN pit gate. Thank you, rick Heck. No more freebies dirt digest.
 
I got my copy the other day. I read the Melvin article. The artcle does come off a bit negative. I think maybe NDD was just trying to get his side of the story. Maybe they where tryin to shut the naysayers up. I think NDD is a very good and informative paper. I'm not a huge fan of Melvin myself, but he did win. I have to give him that.
