Ryan Eilers

Nobody likes it when the rules are bent for someone, other than themselves.

I won't even pretend to know what the heck a swedge tube is or does BUT... Didn't they tech the car before the event? If so, then why wasn't that caught then so he could have corrected the problem?

The tech consisted of them asking you how much you should weight. that was about it before the races. after they teched the top 5

www.belleclairspeedway.com Click on rules on the left hand side, scroll down to page 22.

Right there it states in Black and white that coil spring cars MUST ( and must is all capitalized so apparently they want you to see that ) use stock lower trailing arms in stock location for frame used.

So Don why was it ok for him to run them? It was printed on the flyer and in the rules book. The tech guy did his job and then it was over turned which makes him look like a a $ $ for doing his job and then being turned against.

If i owned my own sportsman you better believe i would have swedge tubes in it for this weekend. But since i dont naturally i cant. How can you rightfully say Don that they will not be allowed now? Stick by the rules otherwise you will continue to lose cars and unfortunately belleville cant afford to lose to many more or it may be added to the list of shut down tracks!

still a rule is a rule and it was illegal, regardless if it was something to boost performance or not he should have been DQ'd

Extreme Series rules are AARA Fall National rules printed right on the back side of the flyer that was handed out.

This is the type of stuff that makes me not want to race.

And while we are talking about an aara official overruling the tech guy..... I talked to an official last year that said he knew a guy was cheating but the official said it wasn't his job to tech or to even advise the tech guy of the cheater. So nothing was said. Why does an allied official all of sudden want to make a decision on tech.

Also, why have a rules meeting? Obviously the rules meeting is a joke too. All they talked about was how camaro clips were not legal but now people are running them, same thing with the swedge tube lowers.

First of all these races are run under summer/fall national rules! They are designed to allow cars from many tracks to come together and race each other for purses they dont normally get to run for and the added competition of mixed competitors!

First of all here are two rules that justify my letting the win stand!

10. NO COIL-OVER SPRINGS OR COIL-OVER ELIMINATORS! NO BIRDCAGES ALLOWED! A.A.R.A. rear suspension rules apply! Springs must be in stock location. If not subject to additional weight penalty!
14. ALL CARS ARE SUBJECT TO INSPECTION AND ADDITIONAL WEIGHT ADJUSTMENT!

So with this being noticed in pre race inspection a comprimise should have been reached through additional weight prior to racing! Otherwise if no comprimise could be attained he should not have been allowed to race!

Ryan Eiler's was hands down the legitimate winner in another Great Sportsman Race!

It is my job as director of competition to manage what takes place at our tracks to make sure the best possible decisions are made!
I and a few others have volunteered countless hours and some thousands of dollars bringing this class to big money shows & the recognition to make it a viable support class even with the WOO & Dirt Racing Group!

Some of you are quickly discouraging those of us that support you the most!
Beat on me all you want! As of this point noone has taken me up on my offer 636-288-2716!

its kinda like a few weeks ago, when nobody teched the allied cars that went to highland, and ran their triple disc clutches.

Cars with allied legal engines are allowed to run triple disc clutches at Highland.

"35. Clutches: Any OEM style clutch allowed. No racing pressure plates. 10” minimum.
Aluminum flywheel allowed.
Multi-disk clutches will only be allowed on Allied legal motors per 2010 Allied rules (AARA)."

Oh, I see, it was the tech guys fault for the racer not knowing/reading/understanding the rules?

BTW There was no pre- race inspection of any consequence and nothing was noted or found pre-race. All racers were individually informed that there would be tech at the end of the feature

so if we claim negligence after the feature, its okay because AARA should have found the illegal parts before the race (in the pre race inspection)?

Sure sounds like your pushing the blame on the tech guy and everyone else. What about this rule?

32. ......Coil spring rear suspension MUST use
stock lower trailing arms in stock location for frame
used.

Which rule clearly states what can and cant be done? The ones you listed or Rule 32?

Don, you do a fantastic job with promoting these shows and putting up with all the bs, but just admit it was the wrong call, apologize, and make it clear that this will not happen again.

So if we are going by Dons reading of the rules, all of the 4 bar sportsman that Jimmy C trys to get allowed to come run the fall nationals are now legal if they just ad weight? Is that how everyone sees it. How much weight do we have to put on a steel block latemodel with eight inch tires to run the nationals? It is the racers job to know the rule book stupid is no excuse, if you show up illegal and win you are still illegal! Makes you wonder how many other rules that they did not know and where not followed? This also makes you wonder how many other times stuff has been caught by tech and then someone says no lets let it slide this time?

Ok so who will grow sum big "FAMILY JEWELS" and show up with them on? I garronteeee my car will have them on it, because their is no performance advantage with them. Also making a list of other stuff to put on thats not a performance advantage.

If you think Mr."Arrogant" is going to change his mind on this your wrong!!! All he's going to say is that my ruling if you don't like it load it up and go home!!! Heard that before!!!

ya know, racers are a pretty smart bunch of guys and gals; they can figure a way around most things. somebody on here is going to show up at one of these races with these swedge tubes on, and armed with a lawyer on their crew. the very second somebody tells them they cant run, the lawyer is gonna step in and say"wait just a second.. on tuesday, these were ok. friday they are not? that wont fly... it's called "setting a precedent".sorry, allied; they got you dead to rights. you set that precedent by allowing those other cars to run like that.kinda bad that it may come to that, but... like i said.. somebody is gonna figure this out.
