Santa Maria Nationals pay $1,500 to IMCA Modified winners

SANTA MARIA, Calif. (May 21) – Two $1,500 to win features for IMCA Modifieds are on the program for Santa Maria Speed¬way’s Saturday and Sunday, May 28-29 Nationals spe¬cial.
Both races are qualifying events for the 2011 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot and pay a minimum of $100 to start. Each winner receives a Nationals champion leather jacket and Billet Aluminum trophy.
All applicable IMCA points will be awarded each night.
Pit gates open at 1 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4 p.m. both days. Hot laps are at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 6 p.m.
Grandstand admission for adults is $14 on Saturday and $20 on Sunday. Seniors, military personnel and stu¬dents with IDs pay $12 on Saturday and $18 on Sunday. Kids ages 6-12 are $6 and youngsters five and under get in free both days. All pit passes are $40.

The Nationals are a cancer awareness and prevention event, and fundraising efforts will include getting pledges and donations for drivers to have their heads shaved dur-ing the Saturday program.
