Laurel, Mississippi (05/31/12) – Henderson Motorsports team drivers, Scott Creel and Leon Henderson, entered a pair of Southern All Star (SAS) Super Late Model events in Mississippi over the course of last weekend.

The team opened their weekend on Saturday evening at Whynot Motorsports Park (Meridian, Mississippi) with a $3,500-to-win, Southern All Star (SAS) Super Late Model event. Thirty-two competitors registered for battle, and Scott Creel claimed the win in the second b-main to earn the twelfth starting spot for the 40 lap feature in his #31 L&D Trucking/Mastersbilt/Cornett Super Late Model. He would fail to make up any ground during the feature as he slipped to a 14th place finish at the checkered flag.

Leon Henderson found himself behind the eight ball in time trials in his #10 L&D Scrap/Victory Circle by Moyer/Cornett Super Late Model, and as a result he was mired deep in a b-main. With the top six cars transferring to the feature Leon finished ninth, which brought his night to an early end. Full results are available at www.SASDirt.com.

Sunday evening found Henderson Motorsports wrapping up their Memorial Day weekend, doubleheader with the $5,000-to-win, Governor's Cup at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi), which was sanctioned by the Southern All Star (SAS) Super Late Model tour. Forty entries were on hand for the event, and via time trials Scott Creel secured the sixth starting spot for the feature. He would battle in the top ten for the duration of the feature before advancing to a fourth place finish at the checkered flag behind race winner, Randy Weaver, Rodney Wing, and Robbie Starnes.

Leon Henderson raced his way into the fourteenth starting spot for the 50 lap feature after recording a second place finish in the first b-main. He would battle around mid-pack for much of the event before ultimately registering a 16th place finish. Full results are available at www.SASDirt.com.

The team will not compete anywhere this coming weekend as they prepare to make the trek to Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) for the 18th Annual Dream 100 on June 8th-9th. The $100,000-to-win, mega-event on the famed high banks will attract many of the nation's best competitors. For more information on the event, please visit www.EldoraSpeedway.com .
