Sherman County Flatlander special set for Sept. 23-24

GOODLAND, Kan. (Sept. 21) – Feature events for IMCA Modi¬fieds headline Sherman County Speedway’s 22nd an¬nual Flatlander special this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 23-24.
The opening night feature pays $1,500 to win while first place on night two is good for $3,500. Both features are qualifying races for the 2012 Fast Shafts All-Star In¬vita¬tional ballot as well as Larry Shaw Racing Blood, Sweat and Tears Kansas and Colorado series events.
IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars run for $300 to win on Fri¬day and $600 to win on Saturday. IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks chase a top check of $200 on Friday and $400 on Sat¬urday. Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods run for $250 to win Friday and $500 to win on Saturday.
Top three Modified drivers in points for the two pro¬grams earn bonuses of $500, $300 and $200, respectively. The Stock Car driver with the top point total earns $300, the top Northern SportMod driver gets $250 and the top Hobby Stock driver gets $200.
Pit gates open at noon Mountain Time both days. The grandstand opens at 3 p.m., hot laps are at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday, the grandstand opens at 2 p.m., hot laps are at 3 p.m. and rac¬ing is at 4:30 p.m.
Spectator admission is $15 for adults and $8 for kids ages 6-12, with five and under free. Pit passes are $25, or $10 for kids 12 and under.
