So, I Hear That Allied Is Going To Make Sportsmans Drop Their Pans To Do A Crank And Rod Inspection This Year? What Ever Happened To The Inspection Plug Rule? And Will It Be Just The Top Runners Or Everyone, Cause It's Gonna Be A Very Time Consuming Inspection. Just Something I Heard From A Good Source.

We have always welded in the inspection plug in the side of the oil pan in all of our pans. I think the rules state if you don't have the inspection plug in the side of the pan you must then drop your pan for inspection.

So what are they looking for? Has there been a problem of high dollar parts being used in the past and what is the limit of what they want?

If there is nothing to hide whats the big deal. If they are having to check must mean there is a reason. I about puked when I put a hole and plug in my brand new pan. jmo

Under the engine rules, rule 25 states that a 3/4 inch plug must be installed in the oil pan.

NOT SURE ABOUT YOU, BUT I COULD CARE LESS IF GUYS RUNNING IN THE BACK ARE CHEATIING. IT OBVIOUSLY ISN'T WORKING. WHEN THEY GET UP FRONT, THEY WILL GET THEIR TURN IN THE BARRELL!

This Happened Last Year I Remember. They Wanted Them To Drop The Pans. Im Sorry But These Guys Fork Out Alot Of Money On There Motors Just To Drop A Pan In The Dirt And Allow Dirt To Get In There. No Offense But If It Was Me Put Me On A Show Room Floor And Id Be Glad To.jmo

I've Got No Problem Showin Anyone What's In The Motor, But I Really Don't Want To Pull A Pan At The Track, I'll Be More Than Happy To Weld In An Inspection Plug If That's Ok With Allied, But If They're Goin To Make Us Drop The Pan Anyway I Don't Wanna Waste Money On A Plug That Could Just Cause Another Leak. Just Needed Some Info To Try And Get A Lil Further On The Car Before I'm Too Far Behind.

dont know what the big deal is last year at belleville i jacked the motor up to the barn in kents car and changed the oilpump so he could run the feature after it broke in hot laps and while i had it off i had the officials come look at it. everyone thought i was crazy!

i think the point of dropping the pan down is so that they can see the pendelums and throws. it would be easier than seeing them from the side. Also, I believe they are talking about dropping the front of the pan down just an inch or two not the whole thing

Rule #15 on page 18 of the rulebook states that a 3/4 plug must be installed in the oilpan. Thats been a rule as long as i can remember.

The way they talked they said it really didnt matter. They had so many people yelling and cussin at them it wasnt even funny.

From what I remember at the rules meeting was them saying, If they cannot see what they want to see thru the plug, then you will have to drop your pans.

Sounds like they will stick that scope in thru the plug hole first, if that doesn't satisfy them, then drop your pan......just put the plug in the correct place and you will not have a problem.

Thats how I took the discussion. Yelling and cussing at officals doesn't get rules changed......:D:D

Ya with everybody being pissed our table couldnt hear everything they said.We had so many dam people complaining around us it wasnt even funny at all.
