St. Francois County Raceway to Open 2005 Season Saturday

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- The St. Francois County Raceway will officially kick-off it's 2005 racing season Saturday (April 9) and this year the track will be featuring a fifth full-time class.

The Pure Street class has been added to join the Winged Sprints, IMCA style Modifieds, Sportsmen and 600cc Multis. The Pure Street class has been growing rapidly in popularity in recent years and it is expected the class will be drawing well over 20 cars a night. Some of the highlights of the 2005 racing season at SFCR includes the All-Star Circuit of Champions (sprint cars) on April 30th and July 23rd; the Gateway Nationals on May 21st; the Missouri/Illinois Clash Week ($2,000 to win for sprints) on June 18th; and a pair of special Tuesday night shows on July 12th and August 16th featuring Kenny Schrader, Kenny Wallace with the UMP Late Models and Modifieds. The season-finale will once again be the Queen's Royale on Oct. 1st ($5,000 to win sprint car event).
