The STARS Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series presented by Arizona Sport Shirts is preparing for "Border Wars 2003" as the BoB boys head south for the first time since the series was formed as they will head to two of the premier dirt late model racing facilities in the south this coming weekend. On Friday Night, July 18 an appearance at the Crossville's Raceway USA in Crossville, TN will highlight the beginning of the weekend with Scenic Raceway in Oneida, TN hosting night number two of the "Border Wars 2003". The total purse for both nights of racing will be $30,000 with each feature event paying $3000 to win.
Both nights will feature a complete show for the STARS Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series with Racing Optics/Bullzilla Graphics Time Trials, Heat Races, AFCO Racing Products B-Mains and PBM Performance Products A-main Events. The STARS Battle of the Bluegrass Series will be using the "hard tire" rule only on Friday Night at Crossville and on Saturday Night at Scenic will be the series' regular tire rule in 2003.
Thus far in the 2003 racing season the STARS Battle of the Bluegrass season has seen 11 different PBM Performance A-main event winners in 14 events.
