Steve Francis the "Kentucky Colonel" took advantage of his heat race win and a draw which started him from the pole in tonights 50 lap A-Main event, and pockleted a $10,000 winners check for his efforts. But, not without some serious threats from Scott James, Earl Pearson and Shannon Babb in the closing laps. The track was lightning fast and multi grooved and racing was very exciting with heat race trasfers coming from as far back as the seventh row!

Francis was challenged in the opening laps by Scott James until he fell out of contention and it was then that both Earl Pearson and Shannon Babb turned up the wick and applied all the heat Francis cared to endure. However; when the checker fell it was Francis persevering for the win and leading Babb, Pearson, Matt Miller, Terry English and Dennis Erb to finish line.

The evening began with 99 cars taking time trial attempts and John Mason recorded the fast time for the evening.

Conley and Earl Pearson, Jr., Jason Montgomery over Jimmy Mars from a 7th starting position and Scott Bloomquist, Steve Francis over Billy Drake and Dennis Erb, Jr. and the final heat going to Don O'Neal over Matt Miller and Donnie Moran.
