CARTERSVILLE, GA – The 2006 StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series Rules and Regulations are now available online at the series’ web site, www.stormpayracing.com. The rules and regulations cover both the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Tour that was known last season as Crate Racin’ USA, and the newly formed StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series.

The new rules cover more than just the nuts and bolts of the series. Not only are technical rules covered, but also conduct rules, race procedures, race purses, point systems, point fund payouts, and the one-time Membership Fee.

“We believe in having everything out in the open when it comes to rules, memberships, and pay outs of purses and point funds,” StormPay.com President of Operations and Communications Roby Helm said. “Although rules and procedures change from time-to-time for the betterment of the sport, we’re going to start with everything out in the open, and not make things up as we go.”

Helm said the technical rules and memberships will be the same for both the National and Weekly series, but the race procedures for the Weekly Racing Series will be up to each individual track.

“We want the technical rules with the crate engines to be the same for both the National Tour and the Weekly Racing Series, so drivers can take advantage of running both,” Helm said. “We will encourage this with a one-time membership fee of $100 that will make a driver eligible to run in any StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series-sanctioned event anywhere in the country for the entire 2006 season. We’re not going to have one fee for one track, and another fee for two tracks, etc. One price fits all.”

The biggest rule change from the 2005 season will be a bigger weight break for the steel-head “602” GM Performance Crate Engine for 2006. This coming season the cars running the 602 engine will get a 150 pound weight break over the aluminum-head “604” GM Performance Crate Engine. The 602 powered cars will weigh 2,200 pounds, and the 604 powered cars will weigh 2,350 pounds.

Helm also announced that series corporate partner StormPay.com will be giving the series’ web site, www.stormpayracing.com, a new face lift, with many new features on the horizon.

“The new web site will open and download faster, be easier to navigate, and the old annoying music will be gone,” Helm said. “Competitors will be able to register and purchase their memberships online, and plans are also in the works that will enable competitors to purchase GM Performance Crate Engines online from the StormPay Racing web site, and on StormPay.com.”

Track owners and promoters interested in the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Tour and the Weekly Racing Series should contact Series Director Mike Vaughn at 770-560-1240, or Roby Helm at 865-207-4157.
