StormPay.com DLMS Names Marvin Ford Race Director

CLARKSVILLE, TN – The StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series has named motorsports veteran Marvin Ford as Race Director. Ford brings over 35 years of experience as a short track promoter, official, and competitor to his new position. This will be Ford’s first experience working with both a traveling series and a sanctioning body on a full-time basis.

“I really believe in the Crate Late Model engine concept of the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series, and when you believe in something, you want to do all you can to make it successful,” Ford said. “I’m looking forward to working all of the competitors, race tracks, and the officials involved with the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series in an effort to make it the best it can be.”

StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series Director Mike Vaughn said Ford will be working not only with the on-track direction, but will also be playing a significant role in the technical side of the series in both the National Touring Series, and the Weekly Racing Series.

“Marvin will be playing several roles here in the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series,” Vaughn said. “Marvin will be handling all race day activities such as working with the racers and the track staffs at not only our National events, but also our with our Weekly Racing Series. With his vast knowledge and experience, Marvin will also play a major role in our technical department. We’re glad to have him as a team player in the series.”

Ford has been working with the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series on a part-time basis for the past two years, and his fulltime status begins immediately. The next StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Touring event is a $5,000-to-win two-day show at Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS on July 29-30.
