MERIDIAN, MS – Carnell Parker III of Clarksville, TN earned the pole position for Saturday night’s $5,000-to-win Coca Cola 60 for the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series at Whynot Motorsports Park. Parker drove the Parker Racing Mastersbilt to victory on Friday night in the StormPay.com Lightning Quick 6 Dash to earn the inside front row starting spot.

Parker also won the second 12-lap heat race, and was the second-quick qualifier among the 41 entrants. Mike Boland of Cuba, AL won the third 12-lap heat race and finished second in the dash to earn the outside front row starting spot in the Ware Construction GRT.

Jeff Fields of Aragon, GA will start the Coca Cola 60 from the inside of row two in the WMF Racing Products Mastersbilt after winning the fourth 12-lap heat race and finishing third in the StormPay.com Lightning Quick 6 Dash. StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series point leader David Gentry of Lewisburg, TN will look for his seventh win of the season from the fourth starting spot.

Gentry was the fast qualifier with a lap around the ¼-mile clay oval in 13.920 seconds, and won the first 12-lap heat race in the Dixon Plumbing Mastersbilt. Gentry finished fourth in the StormPay.com Lightning Quick 6 Dash to earn the outside row two starting position.

The top four finishers in the four 12-lap heat races on Friday night transferred into the starting field for the Saturday night main event.

Jeff Fields of Villanow, GA in the All South Racing Products Warrior, Michael Keener of Douglasville, GA in the Peach State Insurance Rocket, and Matthew Turner of Dawsonville, GA in the Turner Excavating Hicks finished second through fourth respectively in the first 12-lap heat race behind Gentry.

Transferring with Parker in the second 12-lap heat race were Rusty Hoge of Ooltewah, TN, who finished second in the H&H Powersports GRT followed by Chris Jimerson of Gilbertown, AL in the Butler Auto Parts Mastersbilt, and Mark Tice of Hollandale, MS in the TNT Graphics Mastersbilt.

StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region points leader Lucky Keeton of Toomsuba, MS finished second behind Boland in the third 12-lap heat race in the Charlotte’s Toy GRT, with third going to Talbert Goldman of Meridian, MS in the Mike Goldman Customs GRT, and fourth was Larry Murphy of Meridian, MS in the Buddy’s Tune Up GRT.

Following Fields in the fourth 12-lap heat race in the second through fourth spots respectively were Terry Mosley of Gilbertown, AL in the Insane Racing Rocket, Zach Nichols of Cedartown, GA in the All South Racing Products GRT, and Richard Guidry of Port Allen, LA in the Tony’s Custom Carburetors Barry Wright.

Drivers that finished fifth on back in their respective heat races will have one last opportunity to make the 24-car starting field for the Coca Cola 60 through one of two 15-lap B-Main races. The top three finishers in each B-Main will fill the 17th through 22nd starting spots in the Coca Cola 60.

Starting positions 23 and 24 are StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series Provisional starting spots reserved for drivers in the top 15 of the StormPay.com DLMS point standings. Two top 15 drivers on the outside looking in are Shannon Buckingham of Morristown, TN, who is second the National points, and Frankie Beard of Hartwell, GA, who is seventh in the National points.
