CLARKSVILLE, TN – Herman Reynolds and Talbert Goldman are tied in points for the lead in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region after Week 18 of the 24-week season. Jason Wilson continues to lead the StormPay.com East Region.

The StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series saw limited action during the past week due to weather and the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Touring event over the weekend at Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS.

Reynolds and Goldman each have 661 points on the top of the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region, but technically, Reynolds would be the leader in the tiebreaker system, as he has more wins than Goldman. Both point totals for Reynolds and Goldman are based on their best 16 finishes.

Reynolds, who suffered a heart attack and underwent three stint procedures two weeks ago, returned to racing on Friday night, and won the main event at Southern Raceway in Hattiesburg, MS. Reynolds was able to net three more points with the win. Goldman finished tenth on Friday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS, and did not improve on his best 16 finishes.

Tony Albright reached the 16-start milestone over the weekend, and picked up a pair of victories on Wednesday night and Saturday night at his home track, Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway in Clarksville, TN. Albright is third in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region with 643 points, 18 points behind Reynolds and Goldman.

Steven Ashby is keeping pace with Albright, having earned 633 points in his best 16 starts at Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway, and Thunderhill Raceway in Lawrenceburg, TN. Owen Stockstill is fifth with 594 points in his best 16 starts at Pike County Speedway, Whynot Motorsports Park, and Southern Speedway.

Kevin Watts is sixth in the StormPay.com WRS West Region with 539 points in 14 starts at Pike County Speedway. Lucky Keeton and Terry Mosley are shaping up to be contenders for the West Region Championship.

Keeton has 526 points in 12 starts at Whynot Motorsports Park and Southern Speedway for the seventh spot, and Mosley has 516 points in 13 starts at Whynot Motorsports Park and Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS for the eighth position.

Landon Frith is ninth with 507 points earned in 13 starts at Swinging Bridge Raceway in Jackson, MS and Pike County Speedway. Roger Brewer and Jarrette Gunn are tied for the tenth spot with 472 points. Brewer has 12 starts at Thunderhill Raceway, and Gunn has 13 starts at Swinging Bridge Raceway, Pike County Speedway, Whynot Motorsports Park, and Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS.

The top seven spots in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region did not change this week because both Childersburg Speedway in Childersburg, AL, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL were both rained out on Friday and Saturday nights respectively. The top seven drivers in the regional points compete at both tracks.

Wilson has 726 points in his best 16 starts and leads Carlton Freeman by 36 points. John Piece is third with 661 points in his best 16 starts. Logan Yates is fourth with 606 points in 15 starts, and Jimmy Elkins is fifth with 593 points in his best 16 starts. Buddy George is tied with Adam Martin for the sixth spot at 550 points.

Martin could be a StormPay.com WRS East Region Championship contender, as his point total is based on just 13 starts, while George has accumulated his point total in his best 16 finishes.

Samuel Brown put himself in title contention on Saturday night with a win at Thunder Mountain Speedway in Fyffe, AL. Brown is seventh in the East Region with 531 points in 14 starts. Kasey Hall is another Thunder Mountain Speedway competitor with East Region title hopes, as he is ninth with 496 points in 13 starts. Lee Burdett rounds out the East Region top ten with 474 points earned in 13 starts at Childersburg Speedway and Talladega Short Track.

In other StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series action over the weekend, “Dr. Dirt” Johnny Stokes won the 25-lap feature race and the $1,000 top prize on Friday night at Whynot Motorsports Park, besting a 21-car field. Jerry Owens posted his second StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series win of the season on Saturday night at Thunderhill Raceway.

Malden Speedway in Malden, MO, and Columbus Speedway, were rained out, while Swinging Bridge Raceway was off for the StormPay.com DLMS Pike County Speedway National Touring event in the West Region. Thunder Mountain Speedway in the East Region will be off this Saturday night due to the StormPay.com DLMS National Touring event at Talladega Short Track.
