StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Round Up For August 28

CLARKSVILLE, TN – Lucky Keeton and Jason Wilson continue to lead their respective regions in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series. Keeton picked up his eighth win of the season on Saturday night at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS, and Wilson finished fifth on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

Keeton has compiled 730 points in his best 16 finishes to lead Talbert Goldman in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region by 46 points. Goldman, who finished fourth at Whynot, has 684 points based on his best 16 finishes. Terry Mosley finished second to Keeton at Whynot, and moved up to the third spot with 672 points based on his best 16 finishes.

Herman Reynolds took the win on Friday night at Southern Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS, but dropped down to the fourth spot in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region points with 670 points based on his best 16 finishes. The car count at Whynot was higher than the car count at Southern Speedway; therefore drivers at Whynot earned more points.

Tony Albright is in the fifth spot with 645 points based on his best 16 finishes at Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway in Clarksville, TN. Steven Ashby was the winner on Saturday night at Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway, and is sixth in the West Region points with 643 based on his best 16 finishes.

Landon Frith, who finished third at Southern Speedway, is seventh with 633 based on his best 16 finishes, and Roger Brewer finished second on Saturday night at Thunderhill Raceway in Lawrenceburg, TN to move up to the eighth spot with 626 points based on his best 16 finishes.

Owen Stockstill, who finished third at Whynot, is ninth with 619 based on his best 16 finishes, and Don Young moved into the top ten of the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region point standings with 589 points based on his best 16 finishes at Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway.

The top four drivers in the East Region compete at Talladega Short Track, and Wilson leads Carlton Freeman by 34 points. Wilson has 748 points to Freeman’s 714. Logan Yates was the winner on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track, and is third with 670 points. John Pierce is fourth with 668 points. The top four drivers in the East Region have completed over 16 races.

Adam Martin is fifth with 642 points in 15 starts. Samuel Brown is the point leader at Thunder Mountain Speedway in Fyffe, AL, and is sixth in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region with 609 points in his best 16 finishes. Jimmy Elkins Jr. is seventh with 602 points in his best 16 starts at Talladega Short Track.

Buddy George has 558 points in his best 16 finishes at Talladega Short Track to hold the eighth spot, and Steve Kirk is ninth with 513 points in 15 starts at Talladega Short Track. Kasey Hall rounds out the top ten in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region with 496 in 13 starts at Thunder Mountain Speedway.

In other StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series action over the weekend, Scott Gibbs took the win on Friday night at Malden Speedway in Malden, MO, and Donald Johns was the winner on Saturday night at Thunderhill Raceway. In the East Region, Jeff Smith took his second win of the season on Saturday night at Thunder Mountain Speedway.
