StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Round Up For July 24

CLARKSVILLE, TN – Talbert Goldman took the win in Friday night at Southern Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS to extend his lead over Herman Reynolds in the West Region of the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series. Jason Wilson finished third at Childersburg Speedway in Childersburg, AL on Friday night to remain the East Region point leader.

The StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series has completed 17 of the 24-week season, and a total of 242 different drivers have earned points.

Goldman leads Reynolds, who is out of action while he continues to recover from a heart attack, by three points. Goldman has 661 points in his best 16 finishes that count towards his point total, while Reynolds has 558 points with his best 16 finishes.

Steven Ashby was the winner on Saturday night at Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway in Clarksville, TN to move up to the third spot in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region with 622 points in his best 16 finishes. Tony Albright, another Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway competitor is fourth in the West Region with 599 points in 14 starts.

Owen Stockstill is fifth with 594 in his best 16 events at Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS, Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS, and Southern Speedway. Kevin Watts is sixth with 539 points in 14 starts, and Landon Frith is seventh with 507 points in 507 starts. Lucky Keeton, who finished second on Friday night at Southern Speedway, is eighth with 486 points in 11 starts.

Terry Mosley is ninth with 470 points in 12 starts at Whynot Motorsports Park and Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus Speedway, and Scott Tracer, who was the winner on Sunday night at Malden Speedway in Malden, MO, rounds out the top ten in the West Region with 461 points in 12 starts.

Wilson, with 726 points in his best 16 finishes, leads Carlton Freeman in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region standings by 36 points. John Pierce is in the third spot with 661 points in his best 16 starts, and Logan Yates is fourth with 606 points in 15 starts. Jimmy Elkins is fifth with 593 points in his best 16 starts.

Buddy George and Adam Martin are tied for the sixth spot with 550 points. George is riding on his best 16 finishes, and Martin has 13 starts. The top seven drivers in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region have all earned points at both Childersburg Speedway and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

Samuel Brown is seventh in the East Region with 491 points earned in 13 starts at Thunder Mountain Speedway in Fyffe, AL. Lee Burdett, who competes at Talladega Short Track and Childersburg Speedway, is ninth with 474 points in 13 starts. Kasey Hall rounds out the top ten with 457 points earned in 12 starts at Thunder Mountain Speedway and Talladega Short Track.

Other StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series winners over the weekend were Roger Brewer in West Region competition at Thunderhill Raceway in Lawrenceburg, TN on Saturday night, and Scott Knowles was a first time winner on Friday night in East Region action at Childersburg Speedway. Jeff Smith took the win on Saturday night at Thunder Mountain Speedway.

Talladega Short Track, Whynot Motorsports Park, and Swinging Bridge Raceway in Jackson, MS were rained out on Saturday night. Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS and Pike County Speedway were off over the weekend.

Pike County Speedway will host the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Tour with a 60-lap $5,000-to-win event on July 29-30. Whynot Motorsports Park will host a $1,000-to-win double-points StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series event on July 28.
