StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Round Up For June 19

CLARKSVILLE, TN – Jason Wilson and Talbert Goldman are the regional point leaders at the halfway point of the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series 24-week season. Wilson picked up two wins during the weekend in East Region action at Childersburg Speedway in Childersburg, AL, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

Goldman took the win on Friday night at Southern Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS to stay on top of the West Region points chase for the second straight week.

Wilson has 699 points to lead John Pierce by 62 points in the East Region point standings, and both drivers have reached the 16-race mark. A driver’s top 16 finishes count towards their regional points total. Now, Wilson and Pierce can only gain points as they improve on their worst finishes of the season in future StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series competition.

Carlton Freeman is third in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region with 598 points in 14 starts. Jimmy Elkins is fourth with 576 points, and also has reached the 16-race mark. Wilson, Pierce, Freeman, and Elkins have all earned points at Childersburg Speedway and Talladega Short Track.

Logan Yates has earned 510 points in 13 starts at Talladega Short Track to ride in the fifth spot. Buddy George, who competes at Talladega Short Track and Childersburg Speedway, is sixth with 441 points in 13 starts. Tim Staples, who has 11 starts at Talladega Short Track, is seventh with 411 points.

Adam Martin is eighth with 404 points in 9 starts at Talladega Short Track and Childersburg Speedway, and Steve Kirk has turned in 382 points in 11 starts at Talladega Short Track for the ninth spot.

Chris Hill rounds out the top ten in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region with 343 points in 10 starts at Thunder Mountain Speedway in Fyffe, AL, Talladega Short Track, and Childersburg Speedway. Hill is the only driver in the top ten of the East Region to have competed at three different tracks.

Goldman leads Herman Reynolds by 20 points in the West Region. Goldman has 576 points in 15 starts to 556 points in 14 starts for Reynolds, who competes at Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS, Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS, and Southern Speedway.

Goldman is the West Region “Road Warrior” in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series, having competed at seven different tracks. Goldman has earned points at Columbus Speedway and Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, Pike County Speedway, Whynot Motorsports Park, Southern Speedway, Thunderhill Raceway in Lawrenceburg, TN, and the now closed Camden Speedway in Camden, TN.

Tony Albright, who competes at Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway in Clarksville, TN, is third with 478 points in 11 starts. Steven Ashby is fourth in the West Region with 455 points in 12 starts at Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway and Thunderhill Raceway. Owen Stockstill rounds out the top five with 420 points in 11 starts at Pike County, Whynot, and Southern Speedway.

Brian Caudle is sixth with 404 points in 11 starts at Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway, and Landon Frith is seventh with 393 points in 10 starts at Swinging Bridge Raceway in Jackson, MS, and Pike County Speedway. Kevin Watts is in the eighth spot with 377 points in ten starts at Pike County Speedway.

Jarrette Gunn is ninth having earned 332 points in nine starts at Swinging Bridge Raceway, Pike County Speedway, and Columbus Speedway. Doug Todd rounds out the top ten in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region with 329 points in eight starts at Swinging Bridge Raceway and Whynot Motorsports Park.

In other East Region action over the weekend, Kasey Hall picked up his fourth straight win on Saturday night at Thunder Mountain Speedway. Hall, with nine starts, is now one point outside the top ten in the East Region StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series.

In West Region action over the weekend, Steve Karns won his fourth straight at Malden Speedway in Malden, MO on Friday night. Malden Speedway will host a special $2,000-to-win main event for the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series on Saturday night, July 1.

Jerry Owens took his second straight win at Thunderhill Raceway. Lucky Keeton won his second straight at Whynot Motorsports Park on Saturday night, and Davin Bates won his second straight victory on Saturday night at Pike County Speedway. T.K. King took the win on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway.

Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway and Swinging Bridge Raceway in the West Region were rained out, and East Region track I-77 Speedway in Chester, SC was forced to cancel on Saturday night due to a power failure.
