StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Round Up For September 11

CLARKSVILLE, TN – With several tracks off or rained out over the weekend, there were little changes in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series over the past week. Lucky Keeton continues to lead Talbert Goldman and Terry Mosley in the West Region, while Jason Wilson has clinched the East Region Championship.

Keeton, with 730 points, has a 40-point lead over Goldman and Mosley, who are tied for the second spot with 690 points. The top three drivers in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region have earned most of their points with their 16 best finishes at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.

Herman Reynolds took the win on Friday night at Southern Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS, and is fourth in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series West Region with 670 points. Reynolds has also earned points at Pike County Speedway in McComb, MS, Whynot Motorsports Park, Swinging Bridge Raceway in Jackson, MS, and Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS.

Tony Albright is fifth in the West Region with 646 points earned at Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway in Clarksville, TN followed by Steven Ashby in sixth with 643 points earned at Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway and Thunderhill Raceway in Lawrenceburg, TN. Landon Frith is seventh with 636 points earned at Swinging Bridge Raceway.

Roger Brewer is eighth with 626 points earned at Thunderhill Raceway, and Owen Stockstill is ninth with 621 points earned at Pike County Speedway, Whynot Motorsports Park, and Southern Speedway. Scott Tracer rounds out the top ten in the West Region with 618 points earned at Malden Speedway in Malden, MO and Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway.

The top ten drivers’ point totals are based on their top 16 finishes after week 24 of the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series season where a total of 293 different drivers have competed.

Wilson has clinched the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region Championship with a total of 756 points earned in his best 16 finishes at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL and Childersburg Speedway in Childersburg, AL. Eight of the top ten in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region drivers have earned points at Talladega Short Track and Childersburg.

Carlton Freeman is second with 714 points followed by Logan Yates with 690 points, Adam Martin with 688 points, and John Pierce with 668 points. Samuel Brown is sixth with 614 points earned at Thunder Mountain Speedway in Fyffe, AL. Jimmy Elkins Jr. is seventh with 602 points, and Buddy George is eighth with 572 points. The top eight drivers’ point totals are based on their 16 best finishes.

Jeremy Pruitt moved into the top ten of the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series East Region with 560 points in 15 starts at Thunder Mountain Speedway. Lee Burdett rounds out the top ten with 516 points earned in 14 starts at TST and Childersburg.

In other StormPay.com Weekly Racing Action in the West Region over the weekend, Chris Turley was the winner on Saturday night at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, MS, and Eddie Pace was the Saturday night winner at Clarksville StormPay.com Speedway. Brooks Strength took the win on Saturday night at Swinging Bridge Raceway.

Pike Count Speedway and Malden Speedway were off this past weekend, and Thunderhill Raceway was rained out. Whynot Motorsports Park did not report any results.

Thunder Mountain Speedway ran a pair of events during the past week. Jeff Smith was the winner on Monday night, September 4, and Zach Nichols took the victory on Saturday night. Smith and Nichols are third and fifth respectively in the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series National Touring point standings. Talladega Short Track was off on Saturday night.
