street stock at pevely

There is no plan to give up on the class it will be a 2013 class. We know it takes a local base of cars and are willing to build. It is just not feasible to run without at least 5 or 6. It is a loss until the class reaches 12 plus. There are quite a few that said they would be there every week if we ran them and that has not happened. I have always believed it is a necessary step in a racer's progression. I do Thank the racer's who have been there. Hang in there and we will get there!

Mike Hurst bought a car just to run at pevely as well an now it sits in the garage thats a shame and as for as travel goes jason has went to flora a couple time on sat to test the water an done very well there an considering another visit cause the so called home town track is playing games

This is the problem tracks have faced for years. Too many tracks running different rules. Tcs pulls cars from ILL I-55 pulls from the levelheaded area. If MMSP would run this class where would they pull cars from? They pull most of their cars from the st Louis area most everything west of there is not ump tracks besides Fulton. I wish all the ump tracks would run the stret stock class also. That way more tracks have the class and more people will buy cars. Most pro4 guys can't afford to move up to sportsman but could maybe move up to a street stock class. But for this class to work all tracks need to work together and run the same rules with good payouts and the cars will come but it won't happen in just a few weeks

Don't forget years past the pro 4's were the same way. Now look at them they have a good field of cars and put fans in the stands. Like another post most racers build and run a class like the street stocks off there work pay check and it will take time to get the class to build back up. Not many people around here are going to build a car knowing the class might get cut at any time cost too much to travel to other tracks on a shoe string budget. Let it live a little and see how it grows over a year or two. How much more time can it take out of the night with only 3 to 5 cars? They can't take up that much more time than other things that go on there. Heck give another class or two a weekend off to go some where else and that will make room for the class. just a thought. If it's pay out your worried about just pay as little as you need to and be up front about it and see if the class drivers will race for the love of the sport or are money hungry. Back in the day it was for the love of the sport. After all if your in it at this level of racing to make a buck your not going to make it.

the pro 4s dont get paid hardly anything. mike hurst brought enough people in the stands and the pits that it covered the purse for the pure street but i know they are not lookin at it that way now you have a guy that is converting his car to race somewhere else and said since he just started out and this has happened he does not want to ever go back, so tell us this don if its about car count and money then will late models be dropped? they are the biggest exspense and there no cars there either. if you have sponsors that pay the purses then a 3dollar hot dog is makin somebody some money and its not the racers!

build a late model lmao
CHEAPER TO BUILD A PRO4 OR ss HOUND AND THE TRACK DON'T HAFT TO PAY OUT AS MUCH. NO QUESTION ON WHO TO DROP IF THE COST TO RUN THE TRACK IS TOO HIGH WITH A LOW CAR COUNT. DROP THE LATEMODS AND SPEND YOUR MONEY ON OTHER CLASSES. AFTER ALL THE ADVERAGE JOE CAN'T AFORD A LATEMODEL.

but the average fan won't waste their time look at monkey county before it closed the first time I 'm sure allthose fans up in Lasalle tonight are there for the street stocks lmao

If adding another class would put more butts in the stands,I would be all for it. The problem is that all the other area tracks opened their rules and forced the AARA SS to be a 2-track class. My point is, don't do anything to drag the show out.Running too many classes kills the surface and means the Features don't get over before midnight! Not GOOD!!!! Also, DON'T change the rules just to please a few it will cause more problems! I agree that the travel is an issue with a low-budget team...(Been There,Done That,Got the T-Shirt)

Well 1st off unless you get a field of more than 20, the most you would add to the show is 2 eight lap heats and a 12 lap feature. So I really don't think it's gonna extend the show till midnight, since they are usually done by 10:30 or earlier now. Secondly, street stocks aren't that hard on a track surface to worry about. Third, yes they would put some people in the stands every class does. Most every racers has family and friends. But, they bring people into the pits also. Can't forget it takes 2 people in the stands to pay what one pays for a pit pass.

i hope to return to driving next year at i55 in my mod and now a sponsor has offered to move to lates but we need these classes to keep all racing alive, when they call them support classes it also means supporting the purse.

This class would flourish if you didn't need a ($pro$built$) engine to be competitive...I'm just sayin

This class was not added til very late anyway. Anyone moving a class or starting needs all the time they can get to get ready. That just wasn't allowed this year.

Secondly, it discourages ppl when the same guy (Danny ems) wins every week. I'm not saying he has done anything wrong or illegal. But this guy is a multiple time champion at several tracks and also has a sportsman car. Its kinda like korte in a modified a couple years back. Sometimes the big fish just gets a little big for the pond.

Given the right amount of time, this class can and will do well. But be careful what u wish for
