Super Late Models $2,000 to win on Saturday July 28 at Lake Cumberland Speedway

Burnside, KY-July 22, 2012- After being closed the past two weeks, Lake Cumberland Speedway track promoter Brandon Hardgrove and staff will return with racing action on Saturday evening July 28 as the Super Late Model division will compete in a $2,000 to win special at the 3/8 mile semi-banked clay oval, along with a full program of racing action for all other divisions.

The Saturday July 28 racing event will feature the Super Late Model division racing for $2,000 to win in a 30 lap main event. The Modified division will also be in competition in a 20 lap, $600 to win feature race contest. Joining the Super Late Model and Modified division on Saturday July 28 will be the Super Dirt Stocks racing for $300 to win (8 car minimum), Sportsman racing for $250 to win (8 car minimum) and Front Wheel Drives racing for $100 (8 car minimum). The Super Late Model, Modified, and Super Dirt Stock divisions will time trial, while the Sportsman and Front Wheel Drives will pill draw for heat race starting positions. All divisions will also have qualifying heats to set their respective divisions feature event line-up. RACEceivers are mandatory for those racers in the Super Late Model and Modified divisions.

Activities for the Saturday July 28 racing event will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m., with a mandatory drivers meeting at 7:00 p.m. Practice is set to begin at 7:30 p.m., followed immediately by time trials and green flag racing. Ticket prices for the Saturday July 28 racing event in the general admission area will be $15 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 10, and children ages 5 and under will be free. A pit pass will be $35.

Lake Cumberland Speedway last competed on Saturday July 7 and feature event winners that evening included Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, KY in Super Late Models, Ben Petrey of Corbin, KY in Modifieds, Keith Decker of Somerset, KY in Super Dirt Stock/Sportsman, and Johnnie Adams of Somerset, KY in Front Wheel Drives.

Current track championship point leaders heading into the July 28 racing program include Johnny Wheeler of Campbellsville, KY in Super Late Models, Tommy Bailey of Corbin, KY in Modifieds, Keith Decker of Somerset, KY in Super Dirt Stocks/Sportsman, and Rusty Light of Nancy, KY in Front Wheel Drives.

Lake Cumberland Speedway is located at 1 Racetrack Road, just outside of Burnside, KY, just past the entrance to General Burnside Island State Park. Brandon Hardgrove is the track promoter and presents dirt track racing entertainment on Saturday evenings. The track is located on Racetrack Road off of US Hwy. 127 South, only about five miles south of Somerset, KY.
