BONNE TERRE, Mo. -- (Oct. 8-9, 2005) Big River Sand Drags has two new overall track champions for 2005 following the track's annual "Tournament of Champions."

The track champions in both the MSRA Vehicle and MSRA ATV divisions pit the champions of the various classes against one another via a single-elimination tournament to decide to "overall" championships.

In the MSRA Vehicle championship race, it was Jeremy Sutton of Park Hills (the Stock Buggy class champion) taking on Chris Mackley of Bonne Terre (the Open 4x4 class champion and 2004 overall champion) with Sutton picking up the victory.

In the MSRA ATV championship race, it was Erika Camden of Bonne Terre facing Rob Schmidt of Arnold (both from the Super Pro ATV class) in the title race and Camden came away victorious.

Both young racers will now represent Big River Sand Drags at the St. Louis Auto Racing Fan Club's "Banquet of Champions" in St. Charles on Jan. 14, 2006.

The overall championship was just the start of a long weekend of racing at BRSD as the 2005 ATV Nationals then took center stage.

Following two days of racing, the 2005 ATV Nationals Champion was Andrew Burcham of Desloge. Burcham defeated Allie Glatczak of Potosi in the championship race.

Here's a recap of class winners from Saturday and Sunday at BRSD.
On Saturday, in the Stock Class, Allie Glatczak was the winner with Jimmy Farris of Potosi second, Lindsey Hayes of Pilot Knob third and Shawn Ketcherside of Desloge fourth.

In the Super Modified class, Erika Camden of Bonne Terre was the winner with Chris McAlexander second, Shawn Jasper third and 9-year-old Kyle Brown of Bloomsdale was fourth.

Erika Camden also won the Women's class and top eliminator race with Christi Dickens second. Adam Poliette was first in the Junior ATV class with Desiree Patterson-Conway of Leadwood second and winning the top eliminator race.
On Sunday, in the Unlimited Class, Dillon Huff of Desloge was the winner with Art Gordon second, Chris McAlexander third and Rob Schmidt fourth.

In the Modified Stock class, Andrew Burcham was the winner with Allie Glatczak second, Shawn Ketcherside third and Lauren Banks fourth.

In Junior ATV, Andrew Zack was the top eliminator and first place winner while Adam Poliette was second.

The "Tournament of Champions" and the ATV Nationals were the final two schedule events of the season at Big River Sand Drags. There is a possibility of a special Halloween event and/or poker race. If so, detail will be released ASAP.
