help

i am sure it all depends on what kind of tach you are using. but typically:
A. Black lead wireEarth
B. Red lead wireIgnition (+) Terminal or +B
terminal
C. Green lead wireConnect to computer (ECU) Tachometer's_ signal
output terminal._
D. White lead wire+B terminal for Back Lighting.
E. Orange lead wireFor External Warning Light Function

if this is right, clip the green wire.

hope this helps.

Go to the manufacturers website. You can down load the wiring diagrams and instruction sheets. The black, red, green, wires all need to be hooked up. If you cut the green wire the tach won't work. There are wires inside the tach that needs to be cut. One is for 6 cyl. the other is for 4 cyl. There is usually a rubber plug on the back of the tach that you remove to get access to these wires. You definately need the instruction sheet for your tach. It's a bite to hook them wires back togetherif you cut the wrong one. I just downloaded the instructions for ours from Autometer.com. Tons of useful information. about 20 different wiring diagrams for every distributor and ignition system possible.
