The 12th Annual "Bud Pohle Memorial" AARA Fall Nationals takes on a New look. In an attempt to widen the fan base the UMP Late Models , Modifieds & B- Mods (racing under the Highland rule package also allowing E-85 fuel) have been added to the program and will race for normal weekly purses while the Sportsman, PureStocks & Pro 4's will race for Great Purses with Sportsman still being the featured Race!.

We decided to make it more economical for all of the Racer's and have Eliminated all Entry Fees!

So if they're in the wrong spot now were they there all season? Why voluntarily add weight if not? Just wonderin why you'd care what "Wah" hoo is cryin abt.

I think it would be interesting to be more of a racers race if we qualified. It would be something different cus we race for passing points on a weekly basis. If its gonna be passing points, I'd like to suggest to run the sportsman heats after the late models and modifieds where there be some passing. If the sportsman ran first on a balls to the wall track, there won't be any passing with the restricted engine rules we have. It will be a boring follow the leader race and hope you draw a low pill and start up front.
p[ll draw and passing points

What is the allied legal stock location for rear springs on sportsman cars?
Someone will need to know this if they are going to tech it.

Per the rule book:

32. Rear springs MUST be in stock location. Factory upper spring bucket MUST remain, center of spring bucket may be removed. Jack bolt must be solid, no mono-balls, swivels or heim ends and fit directly into spring cup. Lower coil spring mount must remain in stock location. Cross member may be altered or removed for three link rear suspension. Coil spring rear suspension MUST use stock lower trailing arms in stock location for frame used. NO coil-over eliminators. Leaf springs optional on rear end. NO combination coil and leaf rear suspension. Aluminum lowering blocks permitted on leaf spring rear end.

Qualifying the sportsman is a pretty neat idea instead of just relying on the luck of the draw proly wouldn't take much more time to group qualify either

As stated in rule 32 above, everyone understands that the Rear springs MUST be in stock location.
Any idea where the springs should be located on the different sportsman models?

For example is the Chevelle location to match the attached photo?

Here's how I interpret the rule.

Stock location on frame, anything different adds weight.
Location on rear end depends on model.
Ex. Chevelle = front perch of rear end

Trailing arms must match frame. So you can't have Chevelle lower trailing arms with a metric frame.

I don't know if anyone is doing these things because I don't look at their cars but that is how I read the rule.

hey rkatekt,,the second picture,,i cant run that set up on my a mod, dont get me wrong,i would love it if they went to coil overs...JMO

Dave- What your saying makes sense.
Do you have to claim a model (Chevelle, etc) to Allied so they will know where the location on the rear end should be?
