Brushcreek Motorsports Complex Announces Date Change for 9th Annual American Heritage Classic

(Peebles, OH) Brushcreek Motorsports Complex will host the ninth annual American Heritage Classic on Friday July 31, 2009. The annual event at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex attracts many enthusiastic drivers with the hopes of taking home The New 2009 Harley Davidson Heritage Soft Tail Classic motorcycle valued at over $18,000 or $10,000 cash winners choice.

Brushcreek Motorsports Complex owner, Tom Partin, explained "We had planned on running the American Heritage race on Saturday like every other year, but circumstances out of our control last weekend left a small area saturated with what would have been three big races on the same night. Rather than risking a lower fan count due to the other races rescheduling due to a rain out they had, we made the difficult decision to make it a one day event by moving the American Heritage Race to Friday night this year. Partin continued, "We hope everyone understands and will support what is still the biggest modified race east of the Mississippi."

Originally dubbed the American Heritage 101 Classic the annual event featured a 101 lap race for the first 3 years, but was shortened to 58 in 2004 in memory of Jake McCane. Jake McCane was a partner of Brushcreek Motorsports Complex and a major force behind "The American Heritage 101" , who suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on May 9, 2004. In honor of his memory the American Heritage classic will be 58 laps , which was Jake's age when he unexpectedly passed away.

For the first six years the late model class headlined the unique event, with late model stars Don O'Neal, Mike Balzona and Jackie Boggs (an amazing 4 times) taking home the new American Heritage Harley Davidsons for their efforts. However, for the first time in the events history the open wheel modifieds headlined the '07 event with "The Crazy Canadian" Steve Arpin taking home a brand new American Heritage Harley Davidson for his efforts.

The open wheeled modified stars returned in '08 for the eighth annual running of the American Heritage race, an event that saw Waterford, Pennsylvania's Dave Hess Jr. out duel '07 Heritage winner Steve Aprin and Joey Kramer in a classic three way battle. The ninth annual American Heritage classic will mark the third time the open wheeled modifieds have headlined the prestigious event.

With the American Heritage Harley Davidson or $10,000 for first and a unmatched total purse of $17,750 for positions second through twenty fourth, the American Heritage classic is the biggest modified race east of the Mississippi.

The 2009 American Heritage classic will be 58 laps. Group qualifying procedures will be used to set heat line ups. There will be a $100 entry for the event. Open tire rule, any 8" modified tire, any brand any compound.
