The Dry Track Challenge @I-55

Sorry to offend. I just don't understand why every one got so anal about MCS getting dry slick, the racing was still great and there were multiple grooves and now someone starts a thread about 55 being bad and people praise how great everything is there. Again, sorry if I caused anybody any trouble. I don't go to pevely so I should shut up.

LMAO!!! Actually it was Brandon Paul who started the bashing of MCS. I never have because I have never been there. LOL!!! Besides look at the sources sometimes. Usually it's the non-car owning or driving--- pine seat splinter pickers who complain anyway. Personally I sit on the aluminum seats.... Hate those nasty splinters :( And because a few and I mean a few people bash certian tracks does not mean we have to find someone to retaliate against. :( Oh my they are picking on my track let me find another to bash so we don't look so bad. I'd say relax and let the anal retentive people continue to make fools of themselves.... Yes I stand up for I-55 and I did for MCS and have for TCS and so on..... Just kinda get tired of the bashing : ALL TRACKS CONCERNED !!!! We'd hate to lose the likes of I-55 and MCS because silly people have bashed them closed. :( That would be ashamed. Go back to another post some guy said after all her heard about MCS he was afraid to go there but he liked it .. What if he went with what was being said and missed this opportunity to enjoy this facility? What ashame this would be. And that goes for other tracks. Hope not to offend you either Dirtgoon. ;)

Dirtgoon, everyone is entitled to their opinion, including you. Just because you don't go to I-55 doesn't mean you can't voice an opinion, just certain people take comments different ways. I'm another who has never been to MCS in my life, so I just listen to others opinions about that track and don't say anything. Again, just my thoughts.

Thanks Dirtgirl, I was trying to do my best, with what I have. I made a little mistake at a time when there was no room for error, and my night went to hell from there. I would sure give most anything to drive that lap over.\

Ps As The Talker Guy says "Live by the wall, die by the wall"

Well Dean you played with the best and looked GOOD!!! We all buy the wall sometimes.. And some of us live by the tire :( LOL!!! Glad to see it coming together. I was going to come out and see ya but we had company down in the infield. That Bobby Bizelli is a mess. Had to make sure he didn't drink all my Whiskey

Dry Slick It Happens! Tacky And Rough It Happens! The Only Track Prep I May Complain About Are Holes. They Happen From Time To Time Also. Just Don't Like Seeing The Same Hole In The Same Place Weeks On End.

Very, Very, Very well put! :D That's the way everyone should look at it.

Dean

I wasn't there Sat. but it sounds like you had a pretty good run going. Good luck the rest of the season. Will you be at Pevely this coming weekend?

I'm a little confused?(not really surprising to some)

You would rather the track be wet and tacky with one racing groove so that they could go faster? Faster yes, following each other around a big circle in line yes, WHY? As some have stated, the dry slick track afforded the track to allow racing in not one groove, not two grooves, but a whole three(3) grooves with which a lot of passing and actual racing took place. Let me just say, I prefer to see a dry slick track on which a race can actually take place. I figure that most people would like to see the same thing. After all, I just paid $25.00, or more depending on the track, to watch these guys and gals do exactly that.

"My 2 cents worth!"

LOL!!! I thought about that after I posted but wasn't going to change it. Why because I am a Pine seat splinter picker myself. I know you didn't believe me at first did you... :D I just hate that we took a post from good racing to trying to bash a track AGAIN!!! Any track for that matter. And it's usually from someone who has no money invested in a race car and they sit in the stands and complain. :( Those are the people who irritate the heck out of me. And as well as you know I am pretty shy about things and hardly ever say my mind it just slipped this time
:D ;) And Sean everyone is entitled to their opinion. But come on some opinions are just flat ought ignorant :( Even mine sometimes. :D NOT!!!!! LOL!!!! You have to admit it has been alittle crazy on here lately...

See ya'll at the races will be incognito till Saturday Night... Be Safe and Good Luck and Good Racing ( especially us )

I would not go so far to say wet but some bite would have made a much more exciting race. I feel I-55 should be prepped the same for that race and any other race. Any regular Sat nite show is ten times more exciting than was the Tri Track Challenge. On a regular Sat nite there are always cars flying around the high side using the cushion and there are always cars creeping around the corners taking the short way around. And there are some using the middle of the track. My point being a track prepped so a driver can use the horsepower that he has, regardless of his line. To me, those track conditions caused the race to be missing one important factor.SPEED! I know that if those same LMs showed up and the track was prepped like anygiven Sat nite, it would have been a great feature. The Dry Track Challenge only lacked about 460 laps and 4 more hours and it would have been just another asphalt marathon. These LMs are chassis twistin' rockets(as are the MODs) and I like to see 'em haulin' *ss,not goin,well,slow...

First of all

First of all Pevely is a great track, yes guaranteed some nights it can get rought but for the most part it is a great track. Saturday night the track in my opinion was great! Hav eyou ever tried to prepare a racetrack for a race? Do you think it would be easy? I think Ray and the guys are doing a great job and the best that they can! So for all of you who have something sarcastic to say maybe you should try being in their shoes!

What did you say?????? SLOW?????????

Yes,slow compared to what I see on any other Saturday night. The qualifying proved that. Some very good cars came out late and ran slower than some of the earlier cars.Only a few cars went 13.999 or quicker and all I'm saying is I-55 is much quicker than that on a regular basis. Maybe I should have said slower than usual.

Dixons fan, I-55 is IMO, the best track within many miles of St.Louis. I've been standing in turns 3-4 for 20 years now. I am NOT bashing the track, just the condition it was in on that particular night.
