The MSCCS 2004 Schedule Released!

Columbus, MS-The roll out of perhaps the best Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) schedule ever, is a reality. The 2004 MSCCS will see the state of Mississippi’s and bordering states’ top Super Late Model pilots traverse the state from March through September with a 21-race schedule at eight tracks including the 2nd Annual MSCCS/SUPR Challenge held in SUPR territory this year at Baton Rouge Raceway. The MSCCS 2004 schedule includes many double header weekends with travel for the racers and fans alike a key component.

The 2004 MSCCS Tour guarantees the winner of the series championship a minimum of $10,000 plus a point fund paying 10 places along with an additional $1,000 prize for the newly implemented Boland Performance “Rookie of the Year” program. Scott Slay of Clinton, MS took home a handsome $10,900 for the 2003 MSCC Championship title. Other improvements will see a common format adopted by all the promoters for the MSCCS that will employ Pole Qualifying and locking in the top eight (8) qualifiers with the remainder of the field transferring through multiple B-Main events. The MSCCS/SUPR event at Baton Rouge will employ passing points. Charles and Jannie Thrash will also hit the road with the tour as MSCC Series Administrators offering further stability for what is becoming possibly the best regional series of its kind in the nation.

Drivers, sponsors, and tracks will be the beneficiary of added exposure from the new series website in place for the upcoming season and fully functional with complete and timely 2004 MSCCS information that can be accessed at www.stateseries.com or via www.midsouthracing.com . The new fan and participant centric site includes all pertinent series information including the 2004 schedule, purse structures, rules, race formats, points, drivers, detailed track profiles, and contact information is powered by Midsouthracing.com’s Ben Shelton.

MSCCS action will kick off the 2004 campaign March 6th in grand style on the Mississippi Gulf Coast with the $5,000 to win - $300 to start “Frostbite 50” at South Mississippi Speedway conveniently located alongside I-10 in Long Beach, Mississippi. The season will culminate in the state capital at Jackson Motor Speedway on September 18th.
