The MSCCS Invades Queen City This Saturday Night!

Columbus, MS-The 2004 Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series will take its traveling road show for round #2 of the 2004 season to the friendly confines of the high banked quarter mile Queen City Speedway located in Meridian, Mississippi this Saturday night March 20th. The race will be the season opener for Queen City Speedway with the main event of the evening being the MSSCS Super Late Models vying for the $2,500 to win and $300 to start plus posted awards, 50-lap main event.

Another stellar field is expected to fill the pits after 52 MSCCS Super Late Models were on hand for the first event of the season at South Mississippi Speedway including current MSCCS points leader Jimbo McDuffie of Meridian, who is returning to the scene of the crime where he won the $15,000 to win Fall Classic at the last event held at Queen City. A strong contingent of local drivers are expected to be on hand taking on the invaders including Queen City competitors James Dean, Randy Walters, Robbie Harvey, Lucky Keeton, Larry Murphy, plus many more.



The MSCCS is expected to be lead by drivers currently in the top ten in points including Marty Hardy, David Breazeale, Louisiana’s Chris Wall and Phillip Cooper all residing in the top five in points. Also expected to be in competition is 7-time Mississippi State Champion Mike Boland and stable mate Rodney Wing. Others include reigning MSCCS champion Scott Slay, Dennis Duncan, the Cliburn family, plus many more.



Action will consist of Brown Engineering Pole Qualifying locking in the top eight qualifiers with positions 9 through 20 set by Cliburn Tank Lines B-Main events plus two provisionals to complete the 22 car starting field.



A strong flock of Boland Performance Rookie of the Year candidates should be on hand as well with Holden, Louisiana’s Chris Wall currently sitting atop the large field of rookie campaigners.



Queen City Speedway is located just west of Meridian, Mississippi. Take exit number 129 off of Interstate 20 and follow the signs. Pit gates will open at 3:00pm. Racing is targeted to begin at 7pm.
