“The Ragin Cajun” Jason Johnson led all 25 laps to win the $1000 to win O’Reilly POWRi presented by Lucas Oil 600cc Outlaw Micro Sprint event Saturday night at Pittsfield Speedway. The ASCS Sprint Car hot shoe would start outside front row driving Jerry Russell’s Eagle Chassis micro and would get the jump on pole sitter Tony Roney of Herculaneum, MO. A multi car crash would halt the event after the first lap but Johnson would set a blistering pace after that. Derek King of Vienna, IL started 5th and would give chase to Johnson as would Ryan Guyett of Springfield, IL. Johnson looked as if he would run away and hide only to have trouble with lapped traffic allowing King and Guyett to stay on his tail. On lap 14 King would pass Johnson coming out of turn two only to have a caution fall giving the point back to Johnson. On lap 18 Guyett, running third, would try the low groove and spin heading into turn 1 leaving only Johnson and King to duel it out for the victory. Johnson proved to be too much for King and would take the checkered flag. Following Johnson and King at the finish was Brad McDaniel, Roney, and Joe B. Miller.
