This weekend's MARS vs UMP Challenge races at Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, KY and Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, MO have been cancelled.

The Meramac River that feeds the creek that runs over the entrance to Federated Auto Parts Raceway is already high and the forecasted rain (currently at 70%) for Saturday June 1st is forcing officials to cancel this race.

Additionally, MARS and track officials at Paducah International Raceway have taken into consideration the travel time and diesel fuel expense faced by series drivers and the forecasted rain (currently at 50%) for Friday May 31st and are canceling Friday's race as well.

Paducah might as well say that either the NDRL broke them, or they just don't want to have any special events this year. I hate it because it is basically our weekly track on Fridays. First the WoO Sprints, then the Lucas Oil, now this...

Don't want to be a stickler , but, the Meramec doesn't feed the creek, it's a creek of it's own, Joachim Creek, same one that flooded DeSoto a couple of weeks ago .
The Meramec is several miles north and both of them empty into the Mississippi which is backing up causing the problem.

It is the Mississippi that affects the track ...... Saw this coming after I saw the news this morning ... Talking about major flooding again :(

With the way the weather has been in the last week and for the high forecasted rain percentages for the rest of the week, these decisions are wise and expected.

We all know it can change but if you look at the forecast for Saturday i dont believe they would have been able to race anyway. So seems to me the call to cancel now was a smart idea.

The Corp of Engineers predictions are very accurate and the levels they are stating for Saturday means water over Herky Horine rd the road to the track. The city will close the road and write tickets to anyone that try's to drive thru the water. The advertising package for this show is a stout $5000 and was set to kick off Tuesday! Anyone who thinks tracks want to cancel well your wrong. Anyone who would gamble $5000 against the flooding is wrong! The Midwest has a wealth of racing in many forms pick one that may be running if it doesn't rainout and by all means go and support!
