Thompson Wins Modified Feature, Huge 2-Day Show This Weekend at Fredericktown

FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. -- (April 9, 2004) Brent Thompson of Farmington earned his second consecutive Modified feature win at the Fredericktown Raceway after edging Brian Worley of Ste. Genevieve to the finish line Friday night. Thompson not only had his hands full with Worley he also had Danny Resinger and John Bohn breathing down his neck at various times during the 20-lap finale. Worley held on for second place with Resinger taking third, Bohn fourth and Dean Resinger fifth. They were followed by Joe Giesler, Dylan Sharp, Leo Kiefer, Scott Carron and Chris Boyd.
Thompson won the first heat race with Dean Resinger second and Kevin Gegg third. Worley won the second heat with Bohn second and Sharp third. Danny Resinger won the third heat with Tommy Worley Sr. second and Kiefer third. Brian Worley won the trophy dash with Thompson second and Dean Resinger third.
Doug Savage of Farmington won his second consecutive feature in the Sportsmen class. This time it was Nathan Gibson of Bismarck taking second place with Kevin Mosier of Stoney Point third, Dustin Homan of Fredericktown fourth and Greg Stumbaugh fifth. They were followed by Mark Hunter, Jason Keller, Mark Howell and Donnie Mosier.

Homan won the first heat race with Gibson second and Keller third. Howell won the second heat with Savage second and Hunter third. Howell then won the dash with Savage second and Homan third.

In the RAMS Mini Stock class, the night belonged to Marty Boyer of Potosi as he captured a triple crown (winning his heat, the trophy dash and the feature). In the feature Boyer jumped out strong and held the lead throughout the entire race. Shannon Burch of Farmington made the biggest charge of the night in any class as he drove from the final starting spot in the feature to hot on the heals of Boyer as the checkered flag flew to earn second place. Dave Wofford of Farmington finished third with Brian Cox of Ste. Genevieve fourth and Rusty Voyles of Hillsboro fifth. They were followed by Carl Bellew, Jon Paul Reando, Steve Wright, Wes Kintz and Chris Boyer.

Kintz won the first heat race with Reando second and Rick Ruch third. Marty Boyer won the second heat with Wofford second and Cox third. Marty then won the trophy dash with Kintz second and Ruch third.

In the Dwarf car feature, Vince Conway drove his beautiful #40 to victory lane. Todd Williams finished in second with Mike Zaricor third, Dom Wadlow fourth and John Leahy fifth. They were followed by Ron Wadlow, Jim Daley, Jeff Asher and Tracy Rentfro.
Williams won the first heat with Conway second and Ron Wadlow third. Dom Wadlow captured heat number two with Zaricor second and Bobby Black third. Conway won the trophy dash with Williams second and Dom Wadlow third.

In the Pure Street class, it was a night to remember for Travis Goodman of Fredericktown as he captured his first-ever feature win. Clint Prince settled for second place with Derek Shipmen third, Lenny Terrell fourth and Chris Webb fifth. They were followed by Bill Skaggs, Brian Montgomery, Kevin Dodd, Jeff Beeson and Alen King.

Beeson was the winner of the first heat with Goodman second and Webb third. Terrell won the second heat with Montgomery second and Skaggs third. Beeson won the trophy dash with Goodman second and Webb third.

The Pro 4 Stocks made their season-debut as a regular monthly member of the Fredericktown Raceway program and Pat Brewer sailed to a victory in the feature with Robert Denny taking second place, Butch Hartman third and Stan Cain fourth. Cain won the heat race with Brewer second and Denny third. Brewer won the dash with Cain second and Denny third.

This weekend at the Fredericktown Raceway there will be two full days of racing (Friday and Saturday). On both nights the Modifieds, the Sportsmen, RAMS Mini Stocks, Pure Streets and Dwarf cars will be featured. The Saturday show will also serve as the kick-off of the RAMS Mini Stocks Points Series.
