Camargo, IL (5-5-09) – By Kelly Brown – All Star Public Relations Director – With two seasons of racing action under their belt, the drivers of the O’Reilly All Star Midwest Series are ready to make their 2009 debut. This weekend the hard charging 410 sprint cars will be warming their engines for another exhilarating season, and taking their first step in what promises to be another exciting run to the title. The first stop for the All Star Midwest Series pilots is Saturday night May 9th at Lawrenceburg Speedway.
Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, is a place that the All Star Circuit of Champions are familiar with, but last year marked the first time the Midwest All Stars made an appearance at the venue. With the competitors eager to cut their teeth on the challenging 3/8thmile clay banked oval the Midwest All Stars came out in full force for their first outing at the track.
At the end of the night it was Paul May who was the first to cross under the Checkered Flag, after having a dominant night. Jimmy Stinson, Todd Kane, two-time All Star Midwest Champion Jerrod Hull, and A.J. Bruns rounded out the top-five. Who will be the first across the finish line this year? Will it be someone with Midwest Series experience like Brad Greer, Miranda Throckmorton, Shane Wade, or Tiffany Wizard? Or will Rookie-of-the-Year competitors Jim Davis or Jordan Goldesberry take the victory in their first event being a full time All Star?
On Saturday May 9th gates will open at 5:00 pm, with hot laps taking the track at 6:00 pm, and racing action taking the Green Flag at 7:00 pm. Tickets for adults are $22.00, ages 7-12 are $7.00, and 6 and under are free. Pit passes for the event are $30.00.
